Cultivation - Tek: Kratom grown from seedlings

This is what SWIM found somebody else writing and translated it:

First i googled what the climated in thailand is like, i was and am sure that the seedling need a high humidity, and like it warm & bright (but not much direct sunlight as that's not the case in the jungle).
I dont believe that the seeds loose their fertility after just a few days, wrong conditions could be the case if "fresh" seeds don' sprout after a few days. However, the maximum seems to be around 3 months of age, and they have to be kept moist to be fertile.
I kept them in a little plastic greenhouse under a 50W-HQL lamp. The room had a constant 22..23 degrees, the lamp heating the box a lil up (the surface of the box had a temperature of ca. 27.5 °). The soil had about 25 °. The humidity was around 95%. The lamp was used 24h/d at first, later 20h/d.

The biggest risk with this setup seems to be mold. i watered and sprayed them with a sterile 0.3% H2O2-solution. the soil was not sterilized, should have been. Just put the seeds on top of the soil.

Later on i used a solution of 0.2% Chinosol for sterilization & fertilising.

4. day: they seem to "move"



after one week:



The high humidity should be taken serious at the beginning, once forgetting to leave it open for too long (every day a bit is necessary to prevent mold) and the tip of some leaves turned brown, but later on they are a bit more forgiving.

after around 6 weeks




after some time they need to have new pots, replating has to be done carefully .



Conditions for succesful growing:

fresh seedlings (definitley not working after 3 months)
warmth (25-30 degrees)
high humidty (close to 100%)
brightnes/light (best is 24h/d at the beginning)
dont put em into the soil, just on top, as they need light .
work clean & sertile, beacuse mold loves these conditions. Chinosol or H2O2 can redues the possibility of this. Chinosol is besser, is better since it also works as a fungicide.

If SWIY obtained seedpods he has to carfully open them.

After the get in a stable condition they grow quite fast considering they are actually trees.
