Swim has used both ritalin and dexedrine spatules (quite similiar to adderall) on numerous occasions and find dexedrine to be a more pleasant experience. Dex seem to give swim a 'mental calm' and takes the excessive chatter or depression away. Physically swim feels relaxed and yet energetic if need be to use that energy. The mental clarity/relaxation combo is perfect.

Ritalin seems to have a harder come-down and it also seems to make swim much more 'edgy.' Though ritalin seems be better for tasks and schoolwork as it appears to increase motivation better.

Swim has to decide what swim wants within a month and is still comtemplating. Swim will likely take the dex even though ritalin is better for work. We only live once. Might as well live a more comfortable life!

SWIM has been on concerta for a while and got used to its effects very quickly and now feels nothing from it. SWIM's buddy takes all sorts of stimulants and says 54 mg of concerta gives him about the same reaction as 20 mg of adderall. So its defininetly up to the person. Strattera isn't shit (SWIM is on both concerta and strattera) it merely provides a baseline for SWIM which can be added to as needed with concerta. SWIM says to try to get on both.

as far as which is better adderall or ritalin. Try to get get both. Not at the same time cause no doctor will do that (or go through other means). But then decide which you like bettter.

Swim has no real desire for stimulants (unless of course) they are in strict conjunction with a strong depressant more particulary an opiate. SWIM feels they both tend to accent one another in such a unique way. However SWim has experienced both adderal and ritalin. SWIM seems to find ritalin is a much better choice. The amphetamine salt of the adderal seems to have quite a diffrent feel than the prior. SWIM would say ritalin.

i would say 4 me focalin jus becase i have so much of a tolerance buit for amphetamines.....its hard to say becasuse it effects people differently(sp)

Dextrostat will give the user/patient a much purer/cleaner feeling than any other medication relating to ADD/ADHD/AADD. It will also allow a much higher state of focus/concentration with enjoyability since Dextrostat aims at allowing the targeted area of the brain to release dopamine, which will help with any motivational problems or mental/physical fatigue caused by stress from school. Just remember not to abuse it too much if any at all. The come down from Dextrostat is very very mild. The only drawback is not getting the initial euphoria that the chemical release of dopamine sets off, which will be very depleted after a hard binge if even only a few days. This will very in extremeties since everyone is different, and the brain releases this chemical naturally so take that into consideration. Although if the patient truly has a chemical inbalance in this area, he/she would benefit from a medication like this if taken correctly. Tolerance can build up after the first day of abusing the medication. This escalates very rapidly depending on how much is abused.

SWIM is eager to try one of the isolated dextro isomer formulations of either methylphenidate of amphetamine... methylphenidate seems to, kind of have a speed-limiter for swim. amphetamine salt combo (adderall) seems to be smoother in some aspects and more harsh in others... Small doses of methylphenidate worked very well in the beginning, and now SWIM's marmoset regrets switching from methylphenidate to amphetamine and back... it all seems to have pooped out. Only thing swim can figure is to just completely quit taking it for awhile and hope that it will work again like it did in the begin with small doses.

On the other hand, SWIM is curious about the dextro preparations... they seem to be reported as being smoother and having less side-effects. SWIM doesn't think her marmoset's shrink like's using anying other than methylphenidate of amphetamine... Only because of his own bias though, as he will not typically prescribe anything introduced into the market unless it's been around forever.

SWIM doesn't understand how anyone could prefer Ritalin over Adderall. Adderall is ten times better. Swim would rather have 90-120 mg's of Adderall than a WHOLE BOTTLE of Rit.

Methylphenidate (or dextromethylphenidate) and mixed amphetamine salts both release significant quantities of dopamine for someone who isn't me to enjoy.

SWIM's marmoset has had supplies of both on hand since the intital adderall script and after switching back and forth, she has come to the conclusion that she "likes" the ritalin better, but therapeutically adderall is far superior.

These are very different drugs considering how most people think they are so similar. SWIM's marmoset has never enjoyed stimulants much recreationally. And it took her quite a long time to realize the difference between them.

SWIM would have said adderall was better by a long shot when young, and before getting ritalin prescribed and actually taking it as prescribed. After which point she actually preferred the ritalin. After switching back and forth a few times... decided adderall worked better but would rather have ritalin... The marmoset stopped smoking at the same time as switching from adderall back to ritalin and everything changed very drastically in a very short period of time. She began to not only insufflate the ritalin but crave it. So at that point in time, SWIM's marmoset REALLy preferred ritalin. However, it is ironic how much better the marmoset did in life when taking the adderall which she didn't feel the compulsion to abuse like the ritalin. So, it would have to depend on what your definition of "better" is.

My hamster says he prefers Ritalin, non sustained release 20mg tabs crushed and snorted. No contest!

Swim wouldn't be too upset if he saw a bottle of ritalin get flushed down the toilet...besides the fact that he could sell them for adderall...because adderall just flat out owns ritalin. Swim used to love methylphenidate, but once he tried adderall he couldn't go back.

SWIM loves the euphoria from Dexedrine, but the comedown is really intense. Dexedrine makes SWIM euphoric and happy, but during the comedown SWIM becomes depressed, tired and has no energy and cries over everything and gets really emotional. However, the amazing feeling SWIM gets while on Dexedrine is worth it. Concerta doesn't have the intense crash like Dexedrine, but it doesn't have the euphoria either.
