help with adderall withdraw

SWIM is going to be running out of adderall soon and was wondering what could help him get through his work day. he has only been taking about 60mg a day and can get through a day without but doesn't want to feel that terrible feeling while at work. any advice on maybe some supplements that would help or anything like that?

Re: help with adderall withdraw

I'm assuming SWIY doesn't have a prescription so he can't get a refill. If SWIY suffers from excessive sleepiness during the day that is a medical condition and he could at least get modafinil which is often used in treating stimulant abuse. I would suggest SWIY tapers off the rest of the Adderall he has in order to minimize how difficult the withdrawal is. So, for example, if SWIY only had 100mg left, take 40mg the first day, 30mg the second, then 20 mg, then 10mg. There will be withdrawal regardless, but that should help it be at least a bit more tolerable. For stimulation try energy drinks or straight up caffeine pills and lots of B vitamins in the morning. If SWIY can find Kava in paste or pill form that would be a very good anti-anxiety supplement that would help a great deal. Otherwise try 5-HTP, St. John's Wort, or another over the counter anti-depressant supplement that is offered in any drugstore.

Tramadol is prescription only though. If prescriptions were an option I don't think he would be in the position he's in now.

Re: help with adderall withdraw

I'm going through the same thing. Although I didn't run out; I finally decided to throw a whole bottle away because I was getting really badly psychologically addicted to the feeling it gave me. I was so worried about my motivation levels without them (and they HAVE suffered), but deep down you know you can get through the day without them>> because most people do.

I know it's hard, but stick with it dude. I'm trying- It's only been 5 days and I'm having trouble with concentration and anxiety.

And as much as i don't want to be inflammatory as this is my first post Maybe substituting your adderol use with tramadol is NOT the smartest idea. Tramadol is a pain killer which will help with your anxiety for a short time; or until your script runs out. You don't want to just move on to another addiction, well, maybe you do

If you want to try something natural, I have heard that continued use (internally) of Evening Primrose Oil can be beneficial for A.D.D.

Also, I'm sure seeing a counsellor or someone neutral to talk over your concerns with wouldn't be a bad Idea. Although I haven't done this myself...

Good Luck

Re: help with adderall withdraw

Throwing the bottle away may not have been the best option to make breaking the habit easier, but at the same time it does kind of force you to stop taking the meds. If your plan to break the habit is working for you then the more power to you.
