Small dose floating with the Spirits
Greetings~
I like your forum here but have been in a quandry of how to b with low dose legal Amanita tea procured from a health food store, not being a substance user it took me by suprise. I hope you enjoy this. My first float report. What to write? Where to begin? Which one to tell? I decided to tell the one in which I first used my samadhi float tank It's story would not be considered to be my best, just the one I chose to tell first: Immersed in graduate school I took little time to for relaxation and had a sensory deprivation tank. For those that don't know about tanks, they are a wonderful tool. Eight hundred pounds of epsom salt dissolved in a eight by four foot tank heated to 94 degrees (relaxed skin temperature). You bob like a cork in an almost non-gravity enviroment and isolated from outside stimuli. It's so quiet you can hear your own heart beat and eyes blink (they make a noise like ..dink, dink, dink...) The tank offers many benefits. Muscle tension is decreased, homestatic HB,HR. and BP go down, ego strength improves (according to the MMPI), and a plethora of other advantages with regular use. Mostly it's very relaxing and good for you....not a "trip" at all. As soon as I closed the door to the tank I new things were going to be a little different. I was no longer giggly and I began to SEE things in the tank. In the start of this float I experimented with this and pushed open the door to let some reality stimuli in and the giggles returned. Closed the door and the imagery started again. Needless to say I chose the imagery and kept the door shut for awhile. With all this colour going on around me in this pitch black tank I immediately hit the realization that the tank had the potential to be more than just a relaxation tool. It helped me quiet the mind, let go of the body, so what was left was my spirit. And boy is that a trip.... In one part of this lengthy float (that would normally only bring on some giggles when staying in shorter times) I was transfixed on a vision of what appeared to be a praying guy. Looking quite Buddha like, lotus position, eyes closed, and making a loud hummmmm it was worth the focus and I watched. Then I noticed the golden praying Buddha was getting larger and his humming was getting louder. At first finding the details interesting I then frightfully realized he wasn't getting bigger but closer! And I thought; " Holy crap, this thing is going to run me over". Larger and larger it got, louder and louder the hum, my heart beat was gaining speed in response, pounding away in this normally quiet tank. With the increasingly bright, large humming golden Buddha looking vision coming toward me and my heart racing/pounding away all I could think is; "this thing is going to kill me when it makes contact". It had become quite HUGE. It did make contact and I didn't die. The Buddha vision I could no longer see but now I was emanating the golden light as he had in this totally sealed tank. "How could this be?" I had to ask myself. I could understand having visions, but having a real phenomena of seeing in pitch black and being the source of light? So I tested it. The tank is held together with secure bolts that can't be seen with the door closed. I was able to touch each and every bolt with each attempt to reach one. No fiddling around or feeling for the next bolt, I could literally touch each one the first try with the tip of my finger. I even pushed open the door and verified that yes I was feeling the bolts to prove with both touch and sight that yes I could see in this pitch black tank. I had become a light source and was happy that the thing hadn't run me over killing me as I had feared for that earlier moment. Many other things began to happen, visions, etc. Beyond words that I can convey really. One spirit visited, a female entity, and talked for quite awhile. I do wonder what was said....<g>. From what I can remember before this experience I had never "seen" spirits. In fact I laughed to myself at all the "new agers" until this lengthy float. I had a roommate at the time. He told me later that when he came home I was in the tank but popped my head out the door. He said he asked me how it was and that I started to "laugh", began to submerge myself back into the solution, and before I went totally in remarked; "I'm traveling thousands of years".He said that's when the tank door closed. He also said the giggling then stopped. I don't remember this exchange with my roommate nor know what I was referring to when speaking of traveling. To sum up I tend not to be one to achieve such visual experiences with short floats. Usually a short float for me would have created some giggles, nice times, and a relaxing break at best. So this is my first float report...not of my first trip, or of the most profound, or needless to say of the most consumed. Just my first trip in the tank and how I noticed the phenomena of visions behind the giggles. I hope you enjoyed the "float report". Last edited by newposts; 30-03-2008 at 13:44. |
