It depends what you mean by 'best'. Dimethyltryptamine is dimethyltryptamine; it doesn't make a difference what plant you get it from. |

No, you have to drink it, if you want a smokable product you need to make an extraction. For drinking:10-15 grams of pulverised mimosa hostilis simmered(not boiled, DMT breaks down at 50c degrees)*for 30 mins with one lemon, save the liquid, repeat two more times. You need an MAO-inhibitor to make it orally active, P. Harmala is good for this, use 3-5 grams. Both these herbs taste like crap, but they are drinkable.*There are recipes for other combinations otherwhere on the forum.Edited by: BA |

what do you want to say with "save the liquid"?
i have to repeat the operation with the same 30g of mimosa or with new 30g? What is the effect? |

Ok, here's a more coherent recipe: Pulverise 30 g of mimosa, place it in 0,5 ltr of acidic water(ph- 2 to 4), simmer this for a couple of hours, be careful so the temperature doesn't go above 50 degrees celsius as this will break down the DMT. Filter the puverised Mimosa from the liquid, save the liquid, this is what you're going to drink. Simmer the Mimosa two more times( same mimosa) and save the liquid. You'll end up with a large amount of liquid, but you can simmer this down until it is a drinkable amount. It taste very bitter, but it's managable. You should take the P.Harmala half hour or an hour before you drink the mimosa. When I brewed this a couple of years ago I used 18 g of mimosa and 3g of P.Harmala, I drank half the mimosa and had a mild pleasant trip, comparable to 2g of dried P.Cubensis, but a lot more visual. When I felt the effects coming on I closed my eyes and saw a big tree smiling at me, it looked very real, guess it was the ayahuascha greeting me. You shouldn't move around to much as you will have less control of your body, fasting before is a good idea since you'll probably vomit, but it's not as unpleasant as it sounds. Prepare yourself by reading as much as you can about ayahuascha, erowid.org has alot of info. Here's some food you should avoid while on the MAOi(p.harmala) : Foods High in Tyramine (to be avoided): All aged/mature cheese (exception: cottage cheese, cream cheese) Dry and fermented sausage (bologna, salami, pepperoni, corned beef, and liver) Pickled herring and salted dried fish Broad beans and pods (lima, fava beans, lentils, snow peas, and soy beans) Meat extracts Yeast extracts/brewer's yeast Beer and Ale Red wine (chianti, burgundy, sherry, vermouth) Sauerkraut Banana Peel Foods Moderate to Low in Tyramine: (to be used in limited amounts, i.e., 1/2 cup, 4 oz. or less) Fruits (bananas, avocados, canned figs, raisins, red plums, raspberries) Cultured dairy products (buttermilk, yogurt, and sour cream) Chocolate Caffeine (coffee, tea, and cola drinks) White wine, port wines Distilled Spirits Soy sauce Peanuts Good luck, if the recipe still isn't clear PM me. |

if the trip becomes too bad, walk around(if you can),breathe some fresh air..but other than that you cant do much. The main thing is that you realize that a trip is a trip, nothing more;you wont die or get hurt...as long as you have that in mind, there are no bad trips taking DMT orally is far less intense than smoked,so you will probably just have A GREAT TIME |

You can simmer the mimosa carefully, but do not boil as this will destroy the DMT. You can also make it with cold water, but then you have to let it sit for a couple of days, probably, or at least one day. The important thing is to have a ph of 2-4, this will help extracting the DMT from the mimosa and into the liquid. You could let it sit in the sun to heat it just a little, this wayour father, the Sun, will have blessed it also .Ps. You'll need at least 8grams of mimosa for it to work, and this is too much for either smoking or snorting. You could allways try it as a suppository(up the butt), but most people are reluctant to do this, for some reason. It would probably be absorbed quite well. |

Sorry to contradict you sunyata, but when dmt is in it's salt form (in acidic water) it will not be broken down by boiling. When preparing ayahuasca the natives boil the dmt-containing leaves over an open fire, all day long. It's totally safe to boil a brew, without fear. The 50C thing probably refers to the boiling point of the freebase form of dmt (the result of an extraction). Nobody is exactly clear on the bp of dmt, but it's been reported as low as 50 C. It's not destroyed at this temp, it just boils away. but when it's dissolved in acidic water, it's in the salt form which has a much higher bp, and is not harmedor lost by vigorous boiling. |

Are you sure of that? All extraction methods I've read state that you shouldn't go above 50 celsius when dealing with the salt. They might be wrong, I have no way of knowing. Can you refer to some scientific papers that confirm this? You might be right, as you said, the natives do boil their brew, allthough some make it with cold-water. If it's true it would make things a lot easier. |

I don't know of any scientific investigation of the destructive temperature for dmt salts, but if you check the merck entry for dmt (in the "chemistry" section for dmt on erowid) it gives a melting point value of 170 C or so for the picrate salt, and the TIHKAL entry says the HCl salt has an mp of 165-167 C. If the destructive temperature of dmt was lower than this, how could they possibly test the mp? It would be destroyed before melting. Anyway, academic confirmation isn't necessary, because there is a large body of practical data on this. There a lots of people out there that reduce their acidic extractions of dmt at a boil, with no discernable loss. It's tried and true, and I'm very confident in this! And yup, it sure does make extraction easier. |

I have never tried DMT, but have been very interested for a while. Will someone compare an experiance from this brew to an experiance of the smoked DMT? Just in terms of intenseness, longevety, side effects, what ever you care to share. |

Side-effects: Vomiting anddiarheea, this is not as unpleasant as it sounds and has a cleansing effect, if the coming up feels uncomfortable, vomiting and shiting will make you feel"lighter" afterwards. It lasts a lot longer, peak is 2-4 hours, and after-effects felt a couple of hours after that.Depends on dose and individual chemistry. A little less intense than smoking since it isn't compressed into 10 minutes, but withlarge doses the intensity can paralell that of smoked DMT. Medium doses are comparable to mushrooms in intensity, but more calm and visual in character. Tastes awful, but it's well worthit, drinking something so foul can also be seen as asacrifice you make to prove yourself worthy of the experience. I allways feel very refreshed after DMT and this also goes for ayahuascha, no hang-over at all. |
