Re: Mindless
Thank you, Lysergic Sponge, for sharing your art work here. I've had a look through the stuff you uploaded to the image gallery as well, and it really is strange, beautiful and psychedelic!

Re: Mindless
Great stuff, perfect for kicking back and floating away (and of course a bit of entheogenic never goes amiss).
Artwork is also well worth a look. |

Re: Mindless
Thank you all for you feedback and support!
I live in a country full of economic and political turmoil, and so art, especially Psychedelic or visionary art is shunned. I feel great knowing that others are also able to enjoy the strange art that I try to produce. I have been an avid reader of the forums but was always too timid to post anything, seeing that the community is so insightful and willing to share I thought the best place to start would be with my art. Once again, Thank you, the people at Drugs-Forum for being the model community that you are! I am working on several Animations at the moment, I will complete one called 'The Contemporary Alchemist' in about 1 week. Im also waiting for the thumbs up from Entheogenic to start working on a new animation peice for thier new release. I have made some stuff synchonized to Shpongle, but I dont want to post anything without permission. Simon is hard man to get hold of! ![]() I also have other animated shorts and video art, but theyre not purely psychedelic in themselves, just plain weird. Im not sure if they would be relevant or not. |

Re: Mindless
The more the merrier, given the standard of the work you have put on the forums so far.
Do you mind me asking what software you use for the art and animation? |

Re: Mindless
Its great to be a part of it.
For Animations: I use a wide range of programs, anything that fits the occasion. But the staple programs I use are Adobe After Effects and Premiere. For fractal generation I use chaospro and Ultra Fractal. For 3D rendering I usually use Daz Studio or Byrce. Im not foo familliar with the High end programs like Maya, but I like the fact that Daz Studio's is quite user freindly and has a powerful render engine. Mainly the magic is made in After Effects, Nuke or Combustion. The compositing is where everything actually comes together. However the render times for the different programs, on different stages and the final renders ect takes up a huge amount of time. For the Paintings: I mainly use Photoshop, I use Daz Studio for the 3D (if needed), use the fractal generators for fractals, then I composit it all in photoshop, just playing with the image till I get favourable results. The images are quite large, 600-1200 DPI. I then get them printed on canvas, I then proceed to either accentuate or deform the image with oil paints. Many of the pictures have atleast 12 layers of oil paint over the original print. Its a new technique Ive been experimenting with, these are the very first so as I progress I should be able to get more interesting results from the synthesis of Digital and Analogue Art. I havent seen this teqchnique used much around, I would appreciate it if somebody else had any info on other artists or experiments using these techniques. |

Re: Mindless
Many thanks for the reply.
That's an interesting approach. I've heard of artists who transfer their digital images onto canvas or attempt to 'oilify' their creations digitally, but not any that have adopted your approach. |
