Taking dried poppies on the plane

Sniffer dogs may be able to pick up the smell of the dried opium in the pods. In fact, I'm pretty sure opium has an easily identifiable smell (to dogs that is).

Best check the laws of the destination and where SWIyou're flying from to check if possession of poppy pods is legal.

Swims friend is flying from oregon to california. Swim has found lots of lots of differing sites with differing info on legality.

Why not use USPS priority mail and mail them ahead to your destination? Much safer than risking airport security.

Swim went on his trip and decided not to bring the poppies.(he didn't have enough time to ship them) "Luckily" swim has chronic pain and has a script for morphine so he brought enough for his trip, at least he thought.

United Airlines F*ed up his flight and swim had to stay for three extra days! Swim didn't bring enough morphine for that. So for the first time swim had...Withdrawls!!!

Swim was miserable. Changing shirts every ten minutes and horrible diarrhea until he was practically crying. Swim went through a whole thing of Pepto in a few hours and had 3 pills of imodium and still had diarrhea!

When swim got back he realized that he had been through the worst and if he wanted to stop, then was the time. Unfortunately, swim was weak and as soon as he got back made some poppy tea.

Swim finally has empathy for all the Heroin addicts out there. Swim would have done "anything" to get some opiates.

They could be confiscated if they can prove they are for non ornamental purposes. Otherwise you are okay.

Regardless of having a script for the morphine, you dont have a script for poppy pods or the opium thats in them. Thats like SWIY having a script for Morphine and having a bag of heroin on them.....

Remember, if you ACT like you're doing something wrong, people will assume that you are. Confidence is key. As far as you are concerned, they're a bunch of dried flowers for your mother (she likes those kinds of things).

Take a few other flower seeds / dried flowers with you as to make it look like you are bringing a variety of plants to your mom/sister/aunt/etc.
