Chesire Cat, Alice in Wonderland and LSD

Just out of curiosity, does anyone else think that the chesire cat is the perfect personification of the acid experience? I know that wasn't Lewis Caroll's intention seeing as LSD wasn't made yet. Just wondering if anyone interperted it that way. And if you don't think it's the cat, then what pop culture character do you think personifies 'cid.

LOL, That whole movie/story was about drugs. I dont believe that he foresaw the whole war on drug bit when it was wrote. If it was written today, it would never have made it into publication for children tho. Thats just mho tho, I could be wrong.

The book was written based on many an opium experience. Opium was really the drug of choice by many at the time, and Mr. Caroll was one of the better known users of it (in the literary field, that is). This explains the hookah reference, as that was perhaps the most common way of smoking opium.

The cheshire cat is indeed a good personification of the LSD experience. Jovial yet complex, lucid and clear, yet hidden by riddles. A very good personification indeed.
