Salvia divinorum and analgesic (pain relief) effects

Any SWIY out there try this?

Lizard wound up with a sore lower back today from weight lifting (noob squatter and apparently his legs are stronger than his back lol.) A hot soak did little to help, and lizard has no conventional pain-relievers, so...

"Kappa opiod receptor? Hell, can't hurt any!" quoth the lizard.

Three drags of plain leaf were consumed via pipe. A threshold "high" was apparent for 5min, but stiffness/soreness was completely relieved! As of this writing (T+30), lizard informs me pain is just beginning to come back.

Plain leaf would seem ideal here: extracts would probably be too hard to guage a small, analgesic dose. Also, this might be a decent use for sublingual administration, due to the milder effects combined with longer duration.

I'd be interested to hear if any SWIY has given this a try. Lizard is pretty certain this isn't placebo.

Re: Salvia divinorum and analgesic (pain relief) effects

Swim convinced a friend who has knee problems to try smoking salvia for the pain. And sure enough, the pain subsided COMPLETELY, but only for a short while, like 30 mintues to an hour. I will defenently reccomend chewing the leaves to him, and we'll see how it goes.
