A VIDEO has emerged of actress Angelina Jolie sitting in a drugs lab chatting to a woman who appears to be smoking heroin.

The footage, shot in 1999 when she was 23, does not show the Oscar-winner using drugs, however she does talk about S&M practices and killing pets.

The video has been published by British newspaper The Sun - which says its an example to other troubled stars that they can turn their lives around.

It's a far cry from Jolie's current wholesome image as a UN ambassador and role model mum, who right now is heavily pregnant with twins fathered by Brad Pitt.

Jolie, now 32, has never shied away from discussing her drug use in the past.

"I’ve done coke, heroin, ecstasy, LSD, everything. I gave them up long ago," she said, according to The Sun report.

In the grainy video, Jolie says taking part in sex games where someone is tied down "is just a cool thing".

She also says she accidentally killed a series of pets including a mouse when she dyed it blue, a hamster after taking it into the shower and lizards after leaving them in the sun.

The Sun reports Jolie was a regular at the the drug lab, said to be located in New York's famous Chelsea Hotel.

A fellow den regular said: "Even back then I remember her talking about how she’d adopt a huge family from around the world," The Sun reported.

The paper points to the current crop of troubled stars, including Amy Winehouse and Peter Doherty, saying Jolie is an example of what they could achieve if they too cleaned up their act.

angelinna jolie is a little weird. but it sounds worse than it is. she's into kinky sex, and she experimented with drugs a little. and accidently killed some small pets and by accident. no big deal realy. the part that actualy bothered me was killing the pets lol. but the explanation showed it wasnt iintentional.

Depending on how kinky the sex is and whether you want to test your drugs out before you use them, you make have to kill a small animal.
