Best plant to grow ?
Swim was wondering what would be the best plant to grow. Its for a hobby, He is looking for something unusual and useful.
Know there is a lot of info, but still want opinions from people with experiance with this kind of thing. Swim is a new bee and doesn't want naght shades, or what can be bought in a smart shop. Thanks to all swiy. |

Re: Best plant to grow ?
Well if swiy is ruling out things which can be found in smartshops then he's cutting out : mescaline cactus, some maoi containing plants, some DMT containing plants, LSA containing plants ( HBWR or morning glory ) , salvia amoung others. What about papaverum somniferum....opium poppies ?
Or can swiy narrow down the paramentres of what kind of plant he wants to grow ? eg Do things like effect and potency matter or is the plant for purely botonical and aesthetic enjoyment ? Or is swiy looking for useful herbs with no psychoactive effects ? |

Re: Best plant to grow ?
First, if you will be growing only one single specy, then better choose a plant that you know you enjoy the effects (so that means a plant that you already have personal experience with)
Second, you'd better choose a plant that is easy to grow to start with (as I assume you don't have much experience with growing plants). This also suggest that you choose a plant that will do well under your local limate. Third, it is important to take consideration of the harvest: Some plants are fast growing, and easily propagated by cuttings which is good for the harvest, while some plants (notably trees and cactii) might need years of growing before they are big enough for harvesting a single dose from them! Don't expect a huge harvest from a single plant (especially considering that many plants will only allow one to three harvest per year)...unless you're growing several specimens of this plant (which is why I say that a plant that is easily propagated by cuttings is advantageous). Also beware that some plants wont be productive under an innapropriate climate->For instance: salvia and hbwr are both easily grown under most climates, provided you grow them indoor during cold winters, however salvia is quite leaf productive under most climates while HBWR is quite difficult to get seeds from if you're not under a tropical climate (you would need a green house so it would produce seeds). In other words, if you enjoy lsa seeds and you're not in a tropical climate, and you can't afford a green house, then better grow ipomoea, which will easily give you seeds (rather than arggyreia, despite you need much more seeds from ipomea to get high). Also keep in mind that some plants are annual (they die every year and you need to plant new seeds every year) while other plants are perrenial (they will live for many years as long as you protect them from frost during winter if they don't like it, especially tropical ones that can't be grown outdoor during winter in cold winter areas) Also, some plants will do well in shade/partial shade, while others will not. If you choose a plant that needs full-sun you need to have a place which is very bright to grow it (note that if growing indoor and you have no window facing south, you can invest in an horticultural lighting but this is a bit expensive) At last, depending on where you live, some plants might be legal to grow in your country while other may not. I hope these considerations will help you make your choice among the many many psychoactive plants around. Last edited by genaro; 21-05-2008 at 13:30. |

Re: Best plant to grow ?
Swim would recommend you grow some phalaris grass. Contains n,m dmt amongst other tryptamines. This stuff grows VERY quickly and is particularly useful for certain beverages
. Also if you cant grow this stuff, you shouldnt be gardening

Re: Best plant to grow ?
Thanks swim will have a look at phalaris grass. And thanks to genaro was a good guide. Swim is in the Uk but on a small Island with its own law..
If the phalaris grass doesn't work out he will try salvia. |

Re: Best plant to grow ?
phalaris grows fast (almost invasive plant) but it doesn't contain much tryptamines and moreover it does contain the very toxic gramine, so I don't think this is the best dmt/5meodmt containing plant to grow.
