Definition of trafficking spores

i am writing a story for creative writing class about a man who wants to order spores in the distant future in a time when they will be as illeagal as mushrooms themselves, a disutopia story, maybe in his country they allready are illeagal

forming the plot here is the question, if the company name was taggeg at the post office and they phoned the cops who showed up at his house
before the act of possession

would they have a case for trafficking?
if he initiated the buy but never touched them would the fault just be on the sender or would it be leagally trafficking?

ordering spores in this story is a minor offense but any conviction above possession in the area of trafficking would effect this characters chance of some employment

maybe if the story ends up short i will publish it on the forum for any fans of creative writing

It really depends where you live, It seems u have canada put down... SWIM LIVES THERE TOO!! Someones recently been charged selling spores, but swim got his spores less than a week ago! Im not sure about the legality of spores but in canada im Sure its legit, cause most sites just wont ship to the united states! Hopefully someone knows more then me.... Enjoi

Buying, possessing or selling spores is not illegal in the United States (except three states) and Canada. However, possession of psilocybin and psilocin is illegal (schedule III in Canada and schedule I in the U.S.). So this would include mycelium, fresh mushrooms and dried. Since spores do not contain psilocybin or psilocin they are not illegal at this time.
