Stomach problems on adderall

so swim is somewhat experienced with amphs, ie speed, ritalin, and adderall. he has used them and had no real problems but recently swim has been having an increasingly upset stomach when taking addies. around +1.5 swims stomach becomes a violent bag of noises and gurgles and general discomfort. he's only been dosing around 20-60mg and with low doses the effects are minimal and as the dose increases so does the negative effects. swim understands a bit about amph salts affecting the GI tract but has anyone else experienced these sort of issues? and if so, what did swiy do about them?

Re: Stomach problems on adderall

I'd suggest contacting SWIM's doctor. As you said - amphetamines can cause G.I. disturbances. Needing the run to the throne is the most common one. So have SWIM have a chat with the doctor doing the prescribing to see if this might be serious/something else.

hmmm thats a problem. swim forgot to mention that the addies are not script... swim doesnt think his doctor would like to hear about him poppin adderall and then getting a f**ked up stomach.

could an antacid be used to calm the stormy stomach? swim is considering a regiem of Immodium and Pepto bismal. anyone have a good reason why swim shouldnt take these to calm his stomach?

Re: Stomach problems on adderall

Stomach aches are a side effect of Adderall, and SWIM encounters them as well, but not entirely too frequently. Usually in higher doses SWIM is more likely to have a stomach ache and pain follows a similar relationship. As Panthers indicated, running to the throne is indeed very common and for SWIM usually always the case on any dose. Pepto-Bismol tablets work effectively for dealing with painful stomach side-effects, but SWIY might be experiencing something more serious than an upset stomach. I would recommend that, if SWIY thinks the pain is worse than a pH unbalance or something similar, SWIY sees a doctor about having an upset stomach in general. If there is a problem with SWIY's stomach that would be exacerbated by Adderall than the problem would most likely be determined in an examination of the health of the GI system.

Has SWIY been experiencing stomach issues from other stimulants he may take, even caffeine? What about other pharmaceuticals or substances that are taken orally?

mm yes and no. swim stopped taking the addies for 3 days and his stomach did calm down. all he ended up taking was a few vitamins and ate some healthy food and all was well. in the past when swim has takin stims (mdma/mda) stomach issues have been present. caffine doesnt hurt, but then swim never really drinks coffee.
