Question E and Wilson´s disease

hi there

is it save to take an E-pill for somebody, that has Wilson´s disease?
it´s a disease, when the body cannot ged rid of copper (said very simple). this disease/copper, if not cured, may then damage liver, or even brain. more infos about WD here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilson%27s_disease

thank you

Re: E and Wilson´s disease

After reading the provided link SWIM can't think of any reason why it would have any bearing on the person with wilson's disease if they wanted to try ecstasy. One never knows what exactly is in an E-pill so there could be something with copper, but not likely.

It looks to be generally safe honestly.

Re: E and Wilson´s disease

I diasgree with you RH.

MDMA is metabolised by various cytochrome enzymes, produced in (you guessed it) the liver. As copper accumulates in the liver in Wilsons disease, then those enzymes may not be so available (or could become more available, I have no idea).

As a result, dosing with MDMA could produce unexpected and unpredictable results (possibly leading to all sorts of problems with serotonin toxicity)

The OP needs to consult a trusted physician for more information

Re: E and Wilson´s disease

I had no conclusive evidence either way so erring on the safe side would definitely be wise.
