IV questions (not steriotypical)

A few days ago I stuck a needle into my vein, pulled back and saw blood. I slammed the plunger and.. didn't get high (or I just barely got high, but it could have been placeabo). My arm bled more then it has in the past and it began to hurt. Not bad, but enough to worry about. I was nervous as hell but the pain did eventually go away. The next day my arm was bruised and is still bruised the next day.

My hypothesis is that I pierced the vein. Even then, this theory isn't working for me because i pulled back on the plunger and I have always thot that if you pierce through the vien and pull back you won't see blood?

If this isn't the case, and you can see blood even after piercing all the way through the vein, isn't it bad to tell people that if you see blood it means its good to go?

1) I saw blood and shot, didn't get high and my arm still hurted. Is it possible that the needle went thru the vein and blood could have still sucked up?

2) How thick are viens about? If I know my needle is 8mm in length, how far should it be inside? Obviously subjective.

3) Anything wrong w/ using tap water? If so, is it chill to boil it?

4) Anything wrong w/ using a cigarette filter? What else works for a filter if that doesn't work? Cotton balls ?

5) What is the maximum amount of water you can shoot into yourself?

6) Why do junkies think that air is bad to shoot when the internet clearly says it is not?

7) If I put needle in, pull back and do not see blood, can I put the needle back in the same hole (after pulling it out) or should I relocate? Where should I relocate (up or down the vein)

) This is my technique, tell me if its chill:

Wipe arm w/ alcohol pad then ash arm/hand w/ soap and water
Wipe spoon w/ alchol pad
Dump dope in spoon
Suck in 3/4 sryinge full of water
Squirt water on dope (not spill it)
Stir (w/ needle sometimes, is this bad?) and heat/stirr if neccessary
Squish cigarette filter in hands, put halfway in water/dope
Slowly but steady pull up thru sryinge
Get air bubbles out, even tho it supposedly isn't necessary
Tie off arm
Insert needle into veinn following the vein up
Pull back and see blood
Untie arm
Bang
Pull out
Bandaid.
