Once you've started on your way "up the hill," there is no way to get back down; you remember your experience and what you have seen, the key now is to fully understand what you have been exposed to. Reality as wesee it most of the time is quite different from what really IS.

reality is your own perception, ask a room full of people what they percieved happening in the same event and they will all say something different, reality isn't real its an illusion maybe being high is real?

reality is perception. nothing is true, but everything is possible. your reality is your perception of existance. you can change reality using magic, you mind, and you can use tools to influence your magic ... such as drugs.

As I understand what our guest is saying is that he is loosing his grasp on reality, he is not in the now and his perception is getting distorted. If you need your feet back on the ground, the first thing to do is to stop getting high and take care of your body really well in all possible ways. Get grounded.

There are so many different reality's. Or are we justkidding ourselfs? The only thing I'm sure of is that when you lose thehuman reality there's no way you could live in this world. You'd get locked up in a mental hospital. Just make a trip ones in a while if you want to, but if you'regonnastay there... there's no place for you in this world... shitty but true...It's like dreaming. At night you can do all the stuffin theawake statenot possible, but you've got to wake up sometime...

There is no reality mate.

People with a lot of money tell other people what it is, and they listen, because the person talking has a lot of money.

I don't think that as anything to do with reality. Reality is what you live yourself. Not what people tell you is. Reality might be something completely different for youas it is for me. We just think we're talking about the same thing and we think we know what we're talking about. That goes for abstract things like love as well. You think you know what i mean when i talk about love, but how do you know for sure. It's not measurable.

Has anyone ever felt like they were really loosing touch with reality while on drugs. I ask because one day shrooming with some friends one girl started going crazy. I mean really crazy. We thought that we would have to take her to a nut house. We were all too fucked up to do anything and she wasn't a friend of mine so I never found out what happened but it felt like she went over the edge. Does anyone else have an experience like that?

A friend of swic lots his mind too while shrooming. He grabbed a handfull of cigarettes and took a few bites. Then he washed it down with some beer.

Swic thinks weak minded people are more prone to this.

i do get what your saying about going over the edge and i think it may be becuz drugs open your mind and your eyes to things and that if someone actually knows everything about them selves or everything about whats going on around them they get sent into a shock that makes it so that they can never say what they experianced or what they relized. and weak minds can go over the edge easier because it takes them less to relize before they go over the edge

The post above mine gave me chills.

Having knowledge is great,

But having it doesn't necessarily mean who has it will use it

I've made shitty decisions for many reasons-

Tolerating bullshit for drugs or financial gain are probably the most self-nullifying ones I have made.

It's scary to fight with a partner and having what the fuck would happen to my smoke be something that makes me want them to stay. Luxuries like kgb nearly every day, never running our of ciggarettes, having plenty of food, not having to work- fuck they have crushed certain revelant parts of my self esteem but I am still
set in my ways. Being hungry enough to steal food, or broke enough to thieve mountain mikes, or so spun that the laundry 10.00 went to the bag, and I washed my clothes in the bathtub for at least a year. "Ash tray jonesing" involved long butts being retrived, or using the butts of others for roll-your-tobacco, stolen form thea strays of businesses. Now, I won't keep a broken cigarette. It reminds me of poverty.

THis might be a little off subject, but i wanted to say how drugs can really fuck people up that have existing "mental conditions." THis girl i knew smoked a little bit of weed when i was with her and she had some sort of panic attack. It was really crazy. SHe has obsessive compulsive disorder so im guessing this panic attack had something to do with that. Has anyone else seen something like this happen with someone they know to be a little messed up in the head already? On another note alcohol definitely can be just as bad for people, i know people that are fine with psychadelics but get horribly violent and mad when drinking!

You don't have to necessarily freak out on one specific occasion to
have lost touch with reality due to frequent drug use. In my experience
it is just as likely to gradually lose touch over many months, thinking
you are still "you" and everything is fine, until the whole web of lies
comes crashing down around you and you realize your life is completely
fucked up.

Drugs can seriously damage healthy relationships and promising futures.
You don't need a "preexisting mental disorder" or something; all you
need is to be taking drugs in an environment that requires you to lie,
conceal, steal, or whatever bad behavior is tied to the drug use. It
can be a big fuggin' mess.

I have used drugs of one kind of another all my life to escape from reality. I hated school, hated the people there, always longed for some different way of life. At 15, when I found weed, speed and exstacy I was amazed...this was what I had been missing! Standing in a club with my arms in the air with hundreds of other people I remember thinking "this is what life is all about!" I thought the rest of society were losers...I had discovered what was important, had some sort of higher knowledge. Clubbing and taking drugs were the only things I cared about.

Then when I got hooked on heroin I spent my life begging, borrowing or thieving, to spend the rest of my time in a dark room with a load of smack heads gouched out our heads. Reality was outside, I wanted no part of it...I was living in a bubble, me and my drugs. Everyone else could fuck off.

In the past few years I have used alcohol to escape reality, I can't cope with the 'normal' emotions people have or the situations everyone faces. I have difficulty completing work, paying bills efficiently etc. I've spent so long outside the real world. I'd drink or smoke to block reality out, things don't seem as important. If your life is focused on your next fix or next drink reality is passing you by.

I suppose it depends on your definition of 'reality' but to me, reality is going to work, eating, sleeping etc All those things the humdrum people do 'out there,' I don't fit in there yet.

In my experience in rehab, I found everyone in there was an addict because they wanted to escape reality...surely if you're altering your state of mind that's what you're doing? I can only speak for myself, an addict...dunno what you 'recreationals' think?!

i and most people i know who do drugs use them to enhance our experience of reality, not to escape from it. the only real exception for me is alcohol, sometimes (very occasionally) ill use it to get rid of everything else. but i havent done that for quite awhile. but everything else ive used, ive found that i need to be enjoying reality for it to be most pleasurable.

Talking about going over the edge...............just some views i picked up while insane on shrooms and it just stuck in my head and it seems so true sometimes...

There are two of each person out there. The person you see yourself asand the you that exists in others minds. So the"you"you see asyourself can fade from reality in your own mind and thus life is not real for you cause you make it so. But you always exist in others minds so life is real for everyone maby just not for yourself personally. Also life can not be real because the you in everyoneelses minds isnt you and is a lie(wether its your fault or not) and so life is not real because your not real and dont really exist. These are just some of my own views that came to me while "over the edge". If everyone i know sees me as someone Im not and i cant change their minds do "I" belong to reallity, do "I" still exist even though i dont in the minds of EVERYONE out there. So basically it it possible for life to be real for some and not real for others.Anyone have any imput?
