Questions on snorting

When snorting, SWIM knows the drip.

But after just railing 30mg of MS Contin, SWIM has a question.

After snorting, you feel the drip. But when you try to sniff really hard to get rid of the stuffy nose (ie: getting snot from your nose to your mouth, then spitting) and then swallow that drip, doesn't it reach the stomach? SWIM is curious because he thought snorting never reaches the stomach. What about that drip?

Or is SWIM/Y supposed to sit there with a stuffy nose?

although, MS contin seems to leave more of a stuffy nose than other pills. all morphine seems to do this, actually. for swim, anyway.

Most of the opiate will diffuse into Swiys bloodstream through the mucous membranes in the nasal cavity and the back of the throat. It is a good idea to flush ones nasal cavities with some warm water making sure to snort back and swallow what goes in. There may be a small portion that will arrive and be absorbed in the stomach most, nothing too substantial. The congestion experienced is a product of the high percentage of opiate tablets being inert materials and the time release business. Could have a bit to do with with depressed breathing and a lack of the decongestant properties of most snorted stimulant tablets also.

it is known that generic oxys have beads that will clog the shit out of your nose if snorted. name brand oxycontin does not have this "feature." every morphine tablet that swim has snorted has clogged swims nose to some degree, noticably more than oxys, percs, or any other pill for that matter. to get back on topic, ALWAYS take a drop of H20 and snort that after snorting pills, it will take all of that excess leftover and transfer into yer tummy so non is wasted.

but is it better to try and clear out your nose (through sniffing) or let it chill in there?

its probably best to let it sit there until the desired effects are felt. then its ok to snort it down into yer mouth and then swallow it. doesnt make a huge difference though.

Yes the difference being that letting it sit there is a contradiction to the reasons behind insufllation in the first place. If the pill matter is not forcibly spread it will have only partially been absorbed via mucous membranes with the remainder now being "time released" into Swiy's system at best, but more likely never absorbed at all.

Insufflation -> powdered material = increased surface area and the given rate of absorption -> nasal administration = its a hell of a lot better than coating the inside of Swiy's mouth/throat

Increase not only the active compounds surface area, but also the area for it to be absorbed through. Also the flushing will further increase the surface area of the tablet. Letting it sit there a bugger up couldn't seem like a better decision to anyone on any level; assuming they intended to have compound in their blood stream of course.

So basically the shit in a stuffed nose (after pill insufflation) is usually the binders / other chemicals in the pill? SWIM will continue to let it sit for a little, but when it gets too annoying, will snort it right through and swallow.

SWIM isn't a noob when it comes to drugs. For snorting, he's done Roxys/Oxys/Meth/Blow/whatever else. Obviously the meth and coke never gave SWIM a stuffed nose. But after dealing with that morphine, SWIM got wondering about the stuffiness, heh.

Not all generic oxys have the beads that gel up in your nose/needle. ABG's by Watson doesnt. Tevas and Impax's do have the feature. Also if swiy are using mallinckrodt's time release Morphine its gonna gel up just like the Tevas and Impax's oxy. Avinza's morphine doesnt gel but my god it will burn like nothing youve ever experienced. The original time release morphine pills dont gel, if im remembering correctly. Also the gel can be kept to a minimum with all the above mentioned abuse resistant meds. If someone really enjoys insufflating those meds and cant deal with a nose full of Opiate flavored Jello they can rake the beads out using anything like say a steak knife. The finer the powder and less big beads left the less amount of, if any, gel you will experience. After seperating the powder and beads swiy can sniff the powder then either eat/chew the beads or if you dont mind the gel in your nose sniff the beads after the powder. swim perfers to just eat the beads afterwards.

Theres a pill id thread stickied up here with lots of reasources, so no pill ids. The pills youre talking about are Tevas though.
