Is SWIM ready for LSD?

The big question; is SWIM ready for LSD?
Gone through alot of shit in his life, family seperation, family death, family fuck ups, just generally being messed up mentally most of his life, although enjoys it to his most. Had a bad ecstasy trips which were very fucking hard although got through them.
Alot of ecstasy trips later; is swim ready?
swim personally thinks yes, but then what happens if swim isn't ready; after he's took it? he's fucked it.
Swim has had ketamine laced ecstasy and found them fairly fun although paralyzed for most part lol (), willing to try ketamine and magic mushrooms (no experience)
Swim feels like an asshole to most people and wants something to change this if possible
your oppinions please; was swiy REALLY ready?

thanks

Re: Is SWIM ready?

Yes, SWIM was ready. Taking LSD didn't change his life that much. It felt profound whilst he was on it but it didn't make or break him in the long term.

Re: Is SWIM ready?

If one is on speaking terms with one's problems - such as SWIM being an asshole, etc. - then it sounds as though SWIM's mind/psyche doesn't hold any unpleasant surprises. It is the aspects of ourselves that we repress and refuse to acknowledge that present potential negative material that can influence a psychedelic journey towards a negative direction. A SWIM who knows him/herself should be fine.

Much of the repressed material stems from adolescence - when a SWIM is seeking peer approval. A SWIM who finds elements in themselves that go against the current social paradigm tends to repress such. To the point of vigorously denying their existence. This is why most older veterans of psychedelics do not recommend these drugs be given to teenagers. And many adults carry this luggage as well. As psychedelics eat through the minds' defense mechanisms like a hot knife through butter, such material can become known and overwhelm one who resists the encounter. A person who has awareness of this form of social conditioning and has outgrown it may find psychedelics not only safe, but extremely beneficial for many reasons.

Only SWIM can know SWIM well enough to proffer an answer regards SWIM's readiness.

Re: Is SWIM ready?

Well if swiy has had bad ecstasy experiences, he might want to be careful. Its certainly a lot easier to have a bad LSD trip than a bad MDMA roll in swim's opinion.

Re: Is SWIM ready?

LSD is a great substance and one can learn alot from it if they wish to. In low-dose experiments, swim found it difficult to have a bad tip considering he could still control the effects for the most part. Now, if swiy is planning on cramming down 5 hits of "one-hit-shit" style LSD than he should hold off and test the waters with a low (and swim means LOW) dose LSD experience. it will give a point of vantage for what this substance is capable of.

Ultimately it is not up to the members of this forum to decide swiys mental and physical readiness, more the choice made by the user themselves. Set and setting will be key and one should have a sitter present if they feel uncomfortable before ingesting (or just wait till one feels comfortable)

good luck and hope this helped.

Re: Is SWIM ready?

Only SWIM knows if he is ready. If SWIM thinks he is ready and he may well be from the way he is talking then SWIM should study. SWIM should understand about set and setting. Timothy Leary is a good resource for SWIM to explore. YouTube has all kinds of videos of Tim Leary and LSD. Swim should study. He should also keep the dose low and not take more than 1 hit the first time. SWIM should relax and enjoy this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRjB8...eature=related

Re: Is SWIM ready?

If swim has to ask, then NO he's not ready! Talk with your friends, they know you better than us. Just make sure, if your not sure, you don't have to do anything serious, and your with the best of friends riding the tail together. FRIENDS and unfamiliar places is the key, ie. parks or campgrounds. NOT local pub!

Re: Is SWIM ready?

When Swim first did it (two weeks ago) he asked himself the same question constantly. Swims friend said he was ready, but how would he know? Swim gets very paranoid while smoking these days and was afraid of getting even more paranoid on a different substance and smoking.

Truth is Swim didnt feel paranoid one bit and had an unbelievable time. It is really dependent on Swiy's current set and who Swiy is doing it with. If Swiy is currently in a good place in life and has a couple really trusted friends with him, Swiy should be ok. Remember though no one knows Swiy better than Swiy, so dont lie to yourself, that wont help anything.
