What if you gave a bear ecstasy? Or any animal for that matter, swim just chose a bear because bear hugs are fun on e! Swim was seriously wondering though, would it matter that a bear has a different brain than that of a human, would they feel the same effects, or just die or something? Although swim thinks it will take more e to kill a bear because he has more body to have blood flow through.

Re: Rolling Bear
SWIY could probably analyze the results from the number of studies involving MDMA and rats and extrapolate from there...just make sure the bear wasn't depressed from being in a zoo and currently undergoing an SSRI regimen

Re: Rolling Bear
Seeing as how MDMA was studied on rats, i guess it could be possible.

Re: Rolling Bear
Was swiY rolling when she wrote this?
It sounds like a concept one could come up with while on e lol.swiM believes that dogs and cats can enjoy THC from pot, but she's not sure that the animals would understand this concept of chemical happiness. Those senses are more reserved for simply being an animal, and by forcing a bear to exprience a feeling of ecstasy is technically taking away its ability to express anger in the wild where it would need it for hunting and similar. Basically, to them it is a bit more of a poison than a drug, even if they do enjoy it. Dogs and cats may be a different story seeing as they have been domesticated, however they may overheat themselves or have other problems (heart racing too quickly, unable to metabolize MDMA correctly, etc) and their LD50 is probably considerably lower than a human's LD50 meaning even if that were the case a smaller dose would be necessary. Interestingly there are a group of monkeys that live on a resort island somewhere that steal people's alcohol and drink it to get drunk . Watch a video called "Weird Nature - Peculiar Potions" They also mention about drunk bees, cats and catnip, as well as a few other animals living in unison with various natural substances.

Re: Rolling Bear
There was a fascinating study done of spiders and the webs they would weave while on such molecules as LSD25* and caffeine. But this was done before MDMA-class substances hit the research labs in earnest.
* They would place the LSD25 into deceased flies and drop them into the spider's web. |
