3 pod difference

Hey guys I need an opinion or two. My good friend drank a nine pod tea on monday. He said it wasn't to strong but very enjoyable. He woke up the next day feeling great. Now last night he drank a tea containing 12 pods, it was more intense but not like a strong oxy or anything. When he woke up this morning his head was pounding, unbelievable headache, hes nausous and shakey. What happend? And is there any way he could lessen the symptoms? thanks.

probably adverse reaction to certain alkaloids within the plant, oripavine and narcotine are both big culprits when it comes to adverse reaction or allergic reaction.
