Suggestions on what to take at a rave...

Whats goin on everyone,

So a buddy of mine is offering me 5 different things for free because of a few favors i have done for him. It has been a long time since ive messed with any opiates or prescription pills and would like some advice.

He is going to give me: Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Percocet, Valium, and Adderall...

Which one of these (if there are any) would you reccomend for a rave? I'm looking to feel great, and have a great time. I dont want to be completely laid back or anything, i wanna dance, talk, etc etc.

btw i will not take ectasy, lsd, ghb, or anything like that. So please dont reccomend.

SWIM would definitely take the Adderall. He doesn't want to be smacked out at a rave.

Swim doesnt think any of the above are great rave options. Maybe the adderall but thats still not ideal. Swim would think Alcohol or a maybe a legal high if swiy wants to enjoy a rave. Opiates and benzo's are for relaxing, not really for socializing in the party sense.

adn the valium could be useful to come off of other things, a few of which swiy mentioned he doenst wanna take. how about just simple speed or ephedra (adderall not bad..)?? better than being smacked out at a rave.. the opiates one should save for after the rave

I'm sorry, but all those appear like terrible drugs for a rave. Loud, blaring music when one's floating away in opiate dreamland? It doesn't seem right. I guess Adderall would work the best in that kind of situation although personally SWIM doesn't think it has much recreational value at all.

Believe it or not, you might actually get a really bad headache if you take opiates when going to a rave. I am on a Percocet, and I went to a concert, and I got a really bad headache from it. Normally the Percocet supposed to take away the pain, but I suppose, it counter-acted with the music or loudness of it, or something... Anyhow, never really go to raves, so I am not totally sure about the scene and stuff like that, but I wouldn't recommend those drugs, as they are prescription anyway, and they are mostly drugs that would relax you, except for the Adderall in a way, that could bounce you off the walls actually. Just go to the rave and have a good time.

Yes, I second the sobriety, I've only been to one rave, on a boat in Switzerland, and was totally sober- it was amazing!

But if one (hopefully not YOU, right?) wants to take something, let's first look at the pills listed.The list is a mixture of chemical names and brand names, so lets consider what these drugs are and what they do. Basically one has three (or four) downers and an upper.

As for the first three-
Percocet is a brand name for the opiate painkiller oxycodone mixed with acetaminophen (Tylenol in US) They also make oxycodone alone which is usually preferable to the ones with added ingredients like Tylenol. So these are pretty much one and the same.

One also has hydrocodone, which is another opiate type drug, this pill is likely Vicodin, which is a mixture of hydrocodone and again, acetaminophen (not harmful unless one takes a bunch of them, but not advised to be mixed with alcohol) As stated opioids are not really a party drug, they are very "dreamy" and sedating for most people.

The fourth is Valium, which is diazepam. This is an anti-anxiety drug, which also has sedating effects, and can be disinhibiting. It is not likely a fun substance for a rave; one pill of diazepam (often 5 or 10 mg) is most effective for relaxing after a stressful day of work or before bed, or coming down from an upper or stimulant drug.

The final choice, Adderall, is mixed amphetamine salts- the one 'up' drug on the list. Swim thinks the Adderall would be perfect. This is definitely a substance many find euphoric and good for socializing, dancing, staying out all night.. (And if one has the valium this could be used post-Adderall to help one relax and sleep after.)

But please, if swiy decides to take any pills, don't just take it- ask swiy's friend what the dosage is, whether it is EX (extended release) or IR (immediate release) so swiy knows how much to take, how long the effects will last, and what one can expect to feel. There is a forum here on DF about Adderall that may have useful info if swiy is thinking of going this route..

Be aware that for some there is a bit of a comedown or crash after Adderall use, but if one takes a reasonable dose and parties through the night, one will hopefully be ready to crash when one gets home and not have any negative effects. Hope he enjoys the rave!!~

None of those are really all that great for a rave, but if SWIY HAD TO GO ON ONE OR MORE OF THOSE...adderall and vicodin (hydrocodone) would be SWIM choice. Maybe a litle valium thrown in there...but that's how SWIM would roll because of his anxiety problems. Maybe just Adderall alone if he didn't have them.

I wouldn't recommend mixing Adderall, Vicodin and Valium. You are mixing uppers and downers, which can definitely cause counter-reactions that might not make you feel right. I mean, if Adderall wasn't in there, perhaps an opiate and a benzo would be alright, but I don't know if using Adderall with the other two are such a good idea. That's just my two cents.

Thanks for all the responses guys , especially moda for the in depth answer

so swim is not gonna take the opiates, at least at the rave.

Right now swim is leaning towards the adderall...or another type of speed (names?).

Swim is also considering just going sober, maaaybe a drink or 2, but swim hears that it is possible to have a great time at a rave sober.

once again swim would like to thank everyone for their responses, its really helpfull.

I was just about to post Is swim the only one who gets extremely sociable on almost all opiates? Im more hyped and sociable on Hydrocodone then any amount of adderall. I'd rather take a 10 mg hydrocodone to go to a party then any other pill.

yes but sociable and hyped in a way of talking & relaxing, not dancing, right?
especially if alcohol might be considered and one just wants to "let loose" and party he would go best with adderall and maybe a valium for the comedown/crash (if at all..) and the next day relaxing might be nice with a lil opiates but be careful if no tolerance. no mixing these with other substances, and careful dosage. if with APAP check the CWE faq in my signature, might not be necessary, but just so one knows what he will take and might do to his body and how many he can take while still being on the safe side

SWIM would actually drink 1-2-3 beers with the adderall, not much more, but slowly and wait for effects to start.. nothing should go wrong with that, he should drink water, and maybe take some vitamins or fruits for the day after.. he will have fun

Swim doesnt recieve a go out and dance type feeling from adderall its more of a calming and focus feeling. Swim doesnt know if he would enjoy taking opiates at a rave since hes not to interested in glow sticks and house music but swim has taken hydrocodone and had fun dancing at parties and music festivals like Coachella.

The reason amphetamine drugs are used for people with ADD/ADHD is that they have a calming and focusing effect, paradoxically enough. So for individuals who are affected in this way, Adderall would not be an ideal social or dance drug.

However, the majority of people, and people without ADD/ADHD find that Adderall, and other stimulant drugs cause them to feel 'up' or speedy. Amphetamines are, of course, stimulants of the central nervous system, speeding things up in the body, and common effects are increased energy, movement, talkativeness/"pressured" speech," increased heart rate, racing thoughts, increased sociability, etc.

Of course everyone is affected differently by different substances, but most people I know find Adderall very stimulating. That said, I have known people with ADHD who found amphetamines like Adderall to be calming, several of these individuals also reported this with regards to cocaine, so I think there is a difference in brain chemistry affecting how a person might respond to such substances.

There have been reports that Adderall can worsen general anxiety disorder or cause anxiety in people taking it, which makes sense. There have also been reports that Adderall can be an effective treatment for social anxiety disorder, which also makes sense to me. It's just a matter of figuring out how a drug affects one individually and learning one's preferences.

That said, going off the basic knowledge one has of drug properties and effects and her personal experiences, sobriety or a bit of Adderall or alcohol would be ideal for a rave. But everyone's different.

Other types of speed (amphetamines) include dexedrine (another amphetamine medication often used for ADD/ADHD) or methylphenidate (not a true amphetamine, but similar structure and action, aka Ritalin in the US) One can also use amphetamine sulfate powder, but is unsure this is available in the US, she's heard of it being sold on the street in European countries? Pharmaceuticals may be the best bet as purity and dosing is guaranteed. Sobriety or a few drinks are also great options (no comedown from sobriety ) Enjoy either way!!

The more i think about it Swim cant even take Hydrocodone to late or he cant sleep. May lab rats swim know experience the same thing.

So as of now swim is going to take the adderall and maybe 1-3 beers. He might not even take anything, but wants to have something ready.

If you are gonna take any of these at a "Rave" SWIM reccommends taking the Adderall. If SWIY doesnt want to be "completely laid back or anything" this is the way to go. And if SWIY makes the choice to go with that substance SWIM reccommends SWIY chews the adderall then sucks on it till dissolved. Doesnt matter if it is IR SR or TR CHEW IT SUCK IT DISSOLVE IT UNDER TOUNG. Thats only if SWIY wants to get the full effects while at the "Rave".

On the other hand if SWIY wants to actually ENJOY the "Rave" the way it was meant to be enjoyed, SWIY will take X (only if it comes from reputable source) and the one thing NO raver (including SWIY) should EVER go with out....EVER!.....IS A BIG F'N BOTTLE OF WATER! NO MATTER WHAT SWIM IS ON! MELTING SWIY'S BRAIN IS NO FUN!

I am not reccomending SWIY does anything SWIY doesnt want to. HOWEVER I AM FIRMLY RECCOMENDING SWIY watches this film at least once before ignorance completely sets in!
