Swim has been trying to make a small amount for his personal use but after cooking, seems to not be able to produce crystals in the final product and can't figure what swim is doin wrong. Swim ends up with powder that doesn't smoke (swims preferred method of enjoyment) but instead turns to ash in swims water pipe Can anyone tell swim what he is doing wrong?

Could be any number of things, first SwiY should advise:
What was the reduction method ("cook" method)?
Were the precursurs cleaned properly?
What was the method of extraction from the reaction fluid?

This is just a scratch of the surface, but should point to the right direction....
