Re: Are You Taking Prescription Pain Killers?

Jason, your writing is so mediocre and flawed, there’s really no fixing it. You’ll never be a good writer, period. Of course, you will have "fans" (just as any yee haw has on MySpace), but you seem to have more detractors than admirers. If you think you are a "good writer", then you have very low standards set for your self, and you are delusional.

Alright Sarbanes. Nice to meet you. I suppose I am delusional. Maybe it's the medication I am on or something?

Regards.

hay lay off him, he wasnt trying to make out that he had a journalism degree or stating his article as fact he was just writing it to inform people because he wanted to.
you dont have to have a go at him saying his writing is poor and he will never be a good writer, and its just rude to say hes delusional.

everyone else has said there opinion and been honest saying it dosnt work for them, and thats fine, but you are just blatently pointing out everything thats bad and saying he will never be good, so why did he even bother.

im not saying you dont have a right to an opinion, but perhaps youd like to be less of an ass about it.

at least he tried.

Re: Are You Taking Prescription Pain Killers?

Thanks bloodred. I suppose I do have fans, right Sarbane? It's better to have fans and friends, than to have enemies, which I am sure you are very used too. Saying you'd hunt me down is a rather violent way of putting what you were trying to say. It's a lot like saying, you are going to find me, but we all know that won't happen.

* But if it did, I can take care of myself.

Regards.

Re: Are You Taking Prescription Pain Killers?

It's fine. I have taken in so much criticism during my writing career that I am used to it. I began flourishing into different types of writing (B2C and B2B) a couple of years ago, but it was an uphill climb. It's difficult for me to go from one to the other. The business I write for is exclusively B2B (Business to Business), and it's been a rough ride, but I am getting better at it. What I have written on Associated Content is B2C (Business to Consumer), which is a lot simpler, and it's based of products\events that I know about.

I have always been into writing, even when I was in elementary school, but I wasn't that great at it that far back. I have taken just about every writing course you can think of, and I was simply lucky to have gotten this job opportunity, as I was referred to by someone I was working for. Sorry for giving a piece of my life-story, but I just wanted to let everyone know (including Sarbanes and OhCasey) that I can the criticism, but perhaps you both should just think before you post, because a few of the things you stated were quite hurtful, and I believe it wasn't the "criticism" speaking.

I will be posting a few more articles in the correct sections of this Forum, so if you'd like to read them, feel free too. These were written a couple of days ago, and they are on common drugs.

Regards, and thanks for your backup bloodred, I highly appreciate it. =)

Just curious, but what are Business to Business and Business to Company? Are the former articles written for companies like in advertations and stuff like that, and the latter newspapers and magazines for the general public? If I'm wrong, could you explain what those terms mean?

B2B (Business to Business) is ultimately different than B2C (Business to Consumer). What I write on Associated Content is B2C, basically what this means is that I have a vast knowledge of whatever it is I writing about normally. I mean it takes some research and all, but that's the main reason. There also is a bit more detail in the article, and they are fairly longer than B2B.

B2B however is short, sweet, and clear & concise. If you can write an article about a certain topic, and it's 600 words, a business owner (small or large) isn't going to want to read through a bunch of jumble, so I basically have to be able to trim an article by half, while still stating all of the information I stated in that 600 word article. A B2B related article has to give as much detail as a longer article, while sticking to a strict word count around 300 or so words, because business owners want to receive as much information as possible in a shorter article, this way they don't waste that much time, and they learn what they need to learn.

Hope this helps,

Regards.

Re: Are You Taking Prescription Pain Killers?

hey swim takes pain killers for the reason of pain, and its kinda funny cuz swim has a torn rotator cuff with nerve damage and cartilage worn down in my left shoulder. well swim got to the E.R since my pcp is out of town and they take xrays and all this other expensive stuff to tell me soemthing i already know and just wanna give me anti inflamitoy meds and some advil. but i was lucky that the doc had mercy and perscribed swim with 20 5mg hydrocodones till swimm sees his ortho that will take a month to see due to being backlogged. swim isnt trying to fake the docs, swim is in some serious pain and was lucky to get the hydrocodone. these docs are so picky on giving out meds to ppl who really need it cuz of the bullsh@@ other ppl do to get a quick fix, not fair!!! at first she was like i can only give anti inflamatory.swim was like umm i cant feel my finger tips and cant sleep from the pain, she looked swim dead in the eyes and said i can give u something stronger like vicodent, swim said please doc and she did it. swim lucked out till he has to get surgery. sry just venting swim had a long day

Re: Are You Taking Prescription Pain Killers?

So it doesn't have anything to do with the one (B2B) being more used as a way of informing people, for example for professional reasons(B2B), and the other (B2C) is often used as a way of amusement, like magazine articles and columns in newspapers? I lack any knowledge of journalism, if professional article writing is even actually related to it ..

Re: Are You Taking Prescription Pain Killers?

When you view an article in a newspaper or magazine, it's B2B, so yes, that's how it differs from a consumer related article. These articles that are publishable are professionally written to the point where they can be published in a magazine, etc.

I mean, consumer related articles can be professional, they are just a bit easier to write. It's not easy trimming an article that you have written, or spent a lot of time written.

Regards.
