Opinions - Worried About Boyfriend Doing Shrooms

My boyfriend is curious about shrooms, though it would make me a whole lot better if he didn't try them. But, arguing failed, and he called me to try to talk things over, but he got interrupted and hasnt called me since...now, i know shrooms aren't the best thing for you, but what couldhappen for trying shrooms for the first time? i wish i could be there, but i can't. I'm afraid if i keep pursuing him into not takeing it, he wont tell me when hes gonna do some illegal drug. Now he said he'd only try it once...though im still a worried wreck. i love him. But i don't want to risk his trust.

To be honest, SWIY should be there for the first time when he trips, just so he has someone he trusts and cares about around to make him feel comfortable.

Mushrooms cause no physical damage, even in high doses. A seriously bad trip can cause psychological trauma but it's entirely up to him how the trip goes.

Arguing over this is the worst thing to do if SWIY really cares about him. The argument may play on his mind when he eventually does try them, increasing the chances of him having a less than fun experience. SWIY should talk things over with him and accept that he's going to try them. He should feel at ease about the whole thing.

That's what SWIM's girlfriend did and now even she's interested in trying them.

Psilocybin mushrooms are not toxic, not addictive and you do not go mad from a trip. The average person does not have anything to fear, though dosage, the set and setting are very important to have a nice trip.

The main thing to worry about with magic mushrooms is not to give the mushroom user something to worry about. Like causing a fight. Because if something is troubling the mushroom user, chances are that this will become a issue in the magic mushroom trip.

Yes to above^^^. I'd add that in many cultures - that have little war and violence compared to ours - that taking a psychedelic substance like mushrooms is a right of passage. This has been done for tens of thousands of years. The person will be fine, and the experimentation will likely cease.

Be friendly and supportive. It's really no worse than getting a driver's license and driving alone for the first time. He'll be fine.

Don't tell your boyfriend that there is ever anything he cant do unless it involves cheating on you because he has a seperate life from yours and you both get to choose upon the experiences you each get.

I recommend telling your boyfriend about this site or printing him off some information. It's important to have the facts on any mind altering substance, tho in this case not harmful; having a bad trip for what would seem like an eterinity would not be a very good life experience either, send him here or spark his interest in getting the facts before trying something.

Maybe im different but my mind always tells me, "hey before you swallow that you might wanna get the facts; maybe some people are different.

If he is already tripping, do not bother him during. Don't start crying or freaking out, thats why its best if he himself comes to this site to get information on how to avoid a bad trip.

also being a first time user how does he even know what mushrooms look like, does he know if hes eating poison mushrooms or magic mushrooms

I almost forgot, its very helpful if he would consider having a trip sitter there for his first time to help ensure that he avoids self harm, if your cool with it and he feels comfortable it would be a good idea if you could sit (sober) along with him. Don't be a bitch to him or get mad at him for any reason during, just look out for his well being and make sure he doesn't try to drive or run into a freeway. Its important that if he does decide to give you this job, that you not argue or nag at him (pun intended ) be a happy go lucky person that day and try not to speak unless spoken to, who knows when he will forget his own name and you dont want to keep repeating it and freak him out.
