According to SWIM:

The effects actually become more pleasant with age. Yopo has a ton of different alkaloids in it. The bufotenine present is one of the most stable alkaloids in the seeds and it lasts for many years. There are a few unknown alkaloids present that are responsible for most of the side effects of Yopo and they degrade faster than bufotenine. So aged Yopo is a little weaker, but has nicer effects.
