Question on Trip2night. Indian Bromide? ect. Bad experience. What is it?

Ok. I had this dream. In the dream I bought this stuff off of the internet. It was called Trip2night. They said it was "herbal" from a company called herbalhighsusa. The company is not longer in business. In this dream when I took the Trip2night it made me feel very strange. It also made me have empathy toward people in a big way. This was not like speed. Trippy in a way in the dream. Anyway I began to take it every day. To make a long story short I began to believe I was an incarnated Tibetan priest and other things. The thoughts stayed in my head even when I was not one it. In the dream I was driving my car on Trip2night. I became convinced that my car could turn into a rocket ship and go to a place 200 miles away in 2 minutes. So I floored the accelarator. Well the car crashed and was destroyed. I still thought I was a Tibetan priest. The cops threw me in jail. Then a doctor came to the jail. I was transferred to the psych ward and observed for 72 hours and let go. Like I said. This was all a dream. What is this stuff? What the hell is in this stuff? This dream was 5 years ago. A lot of other weird stuff happened in the dream but this is just some of it.

Re: Question on Trip2night. Indian Bromide? ect. Bad experience. What is it?

There was a few companies out there selling what they called legal psychedelics. One of the ingredients on the label was something they called "Indian Bromine." Following a hunch, we looked into this - and we were right: It was Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide. Which they were buying in India, mislabeling it to sneak it past customs. And selling as an all-natural legal trip.

What was described in the 'dream' sounds mightly similar to what one might conjure up after taking this stuff without having knowledge of the odd effects DXM is capable of causing. I can see where a dreamer might believe they were the Panchan Lama of Tibet or something. So I'll bet dollars to doughnuts this was what the dreamer encountered.

Hope this helps. Use the search-engine and check out the Dissociatives forum for further information on DXM.

Thanks! Those jerks! Selling the dreamer DXM as an herbal! The dreamer would like to break their legs for that. Very unethical. In the dream the dreamer lost a lot because of this dream. In the dream when the doctors tested the dreamers urine they found PCP on the initial testing. But doctor sent dreamers blood for more extensive tests and found no PCP. The urine test was just a general teat. In the dream the Trip2 night also was said to have ephedra in it as well. The dreamer is not a delusional person but in the dream the effects of the Trip2night remained for quite a while after it was stopped. This was disturbing. The dreamer is very impressed that you were able to find this information as he tried very hard with no success. The dreamer also says that if genuine substances were legal then bad dreams like this would not happen very much. Thank you!

Also Panthers007. I just checked the section you advised. It even more confirms that you are dead on correct. It discusses psychotic breaks and such. Also it is very interestin to note that it says that DXM effects the cerebellum of the brain. This section of brain deals with balance. Well in the dream the dreamer with the identity of a Tibetan Lama believed he could balance on anything. And in fact he became very good at doing all kinds of balancing potitions. Not only standing on things but balancing things on top of each other in his hands. The dreamers cerebellum was clearly effected and stimulated in some way. Yes this was DXM. Dreamer had mania, cerebellar dysfunction and psychotic break as well as some kidney problem on testing. Clearly all DXM related.

And the manufacturer deserves yet another standing ovation: Mixing DXM with Ephedra can result in a heart-attack. They both, by themselves, put quite a strain on the heart. Lovely!

Re: Question on Trip2night. Indian Bromide? ect. Bad experience. What is it?

Well the heart thing is interesting. A few weeks after this happened the dreamer had an episode of atrial fib and atrial flutter. The dreamer had an echo study on his heart. This study indicated that the dreamer had an area of hypokinesis which may represent an infarction. So a month of so of DXM and ephedra at high doses caused mental dysfunction, cerebellar alterations, kidney damage and cardiac problems including a possible heart attack. One may ask how the dreamer who is very educated in human biology could do something this stupid in a dream? Well after the first few days the dreamer was so screwed up he coild not make any rational decisions as the dreamer's mind was gone and he did not know it. He felt rational. Not only during this whole episode did the dreamer believe he was a high Tibetan Lama. He also spoke with different accents. One was a spanish accent and the other was that which he thought was a Tibetan priest. Many things happened. He also became convinced that his "third eye" needed to be "opened" to enhance his telepathy so he took a powerful vibrator and proceded to try and open his skull between his eyes. He also became convinced that there would be a "flash" in the sky and the world would end one night. He actually went around warning the townsfolk of the upcoming destruction of the planet! There were no hallucanations or visual or auditory distortions. Only mental disease. I think it took the dreamer about 2 or 3 months to recover. He still believed he was gifted with some "powers". Did things like string prayer flags around the yard and played tapes of chanting. The dreamer is still very embarrised and upset that this could have happened. In the dream the dreamer lost his business, family, house and everything he worked for because of the dream. Dreamer was always the one who was sane and could maintain when others could not. The dreamer is still ashamed. he should have stuck with his mescaline........The dreamer wonders how many other people were hurt in the world because of this? If safer things like LSD and mescaline were available to people then folks might not chance it with these dangerous compounds. The dreamer would not have.

Re: Question on Trip2night. Indian Bromide? ect. Bad experience. What is it?

The saner one is, the greater the 'snap!' Anywho - my condolences to the Dreamer. I hope the Dreamer has the opportunity to bring this subject up in a public area to demonstrate why the "War on Drugs" is causing a great deal of harm to the very people it is supposed to protect.

The Dreamer need not feel ashamed. DXM is a powerful substance. Taken without knowledge and preparation, this sort of reaction is quite common. Taken with the intent of a psychedelic journey, DXM has proven it's worth as a therapeutic tool. But to market it as some sort of natural high is tantamount to the CIA slipping LSD in people's drinks in bars and taking them to a "safe house" to perform perverse sexual acts while being filmed from behind the one-way mirrors.
