Itching like CRAZY!! (hydrocodone)

I have been taking Vicodins and Percocets and other such type pills recreationally on and off in my life and just started up again recently. I have always HATED the fact that when you take any kind of opiate you itch like mad. I itch so bad sometimes that leave scratch marks on my body i scratch so hard and often. I also make my nose red and raw sometimes cuz it itches so much.

My question is.....does anyone have ANY advice or tips for making yourself less itch less while on an opiate. HELP!!

Personally, I love the itches! I really don't get the itches much though. When I do get them, they will usually come and go, and they are never intense or uncontrollable. Basicly, when I get the itches and the warmth, I know it's kickin in.

yep, the itches let me know i'm starting to feel good.

donnn't care, if ii itched while coming down or wasn't
high, i'd get frustrated.

I had a constant, as needed supply of Vicodin (Watson 503) for just
over one year. Went through withdrawal (and all that) at the end,
enjoyed my time with it, and was occasionaly miserable.

But never do I remember being itchy. Not once. Ever.

/Strange?

To answer the original question. You could try taking an anti-histamine of some sort. That will almost always help with the itching.

Isn't there a prescription opiate that comes with something to help relieve that awful itching??

GETERDN'- i think you are talking about Vicoprofen. It is a mixture of hydrocodone and ibuprofen as opposed to the normal hydro and tylenol. they give it to people who need pain meds but get horrible itching. i believe ibuprofen is Benadryl (the brand name), just like the guy mentioned above.

Benadryl is diphenhydramine - an antihistamine that helps stop itching. Ibuprofen is motrin, advil, and a few other names. It is an analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug. Big difference.

Panactyl is a prescription anti-itching pill (it is an antihistimine
combo I believe, but it will stop almost ANY itch). Only prob is
it makes SWIM REALLY tired, mileage may vary though

Seriously, I know I'm probably beating a dead horse here, but do what some people already recommended. If you were a patient in a hospital, after surgery, and you were complaining of itching from the opiates, the doctor will give you 1 benadryl (diphenhydramine) 25mg. if that doesn't work, they give you another benadryl. why? because it WORKS!

plus, it's over the counter. go buy some!
