Question re: shortness of breath

One thing my lizard has noticed about consuming Salvia is he usually experiences shortness of breath during the trip. It's worth noting that lizard has some airway obstruction (he has a trach); that could account for the sensation, even though he doesn't notice it normally.

However, as Salvia is a (kappa) opioid receptor agonist, he was wondering if it has a tendency to depress breathing in the same manner as more conventional opioid agonists. Anyone else experienced this?
