Question about the onset of a drug when smoked..

everybody knows that smoking a drug reaches the brain within 7-10 seconds. which is why meth and crack produce such rushes.

but why if it reaches the brain in seconds does it take minutes for marijuana to kick in?

swim dosnt know about SWIyou guys but swim has smoked weed before that took at least a couple minutes to kick in. the longest taking about 7 mins.

swim remember when he was a newbie at smoking and he and his buddy would wonder when it would happen and thaought it was a dud when out of nowhere it kicked in.

what is the difference between marijuana onset and regular drug onset when smoked? and why does this happen?
