Re: Poll - Turning the corner.
Please elaborate on what you mean by 'turned the corner'. How does this relate to cannabis using? Is 'turning the corner' the cannabis equivalent of 'losing the magic' for MDMA? If this is so, and discussion ensues, a poll could certainly be opened for it.

Re: Poll - Turning the corner.
oh ok, "turning the corner" (I though it was a well accepted term, proly just local) is when swiy can no longer enjoy the cannabic experience because of anxiety, uncomfortableness or anything else.

Re: Poll - Turning the corner.
Seems like a counter-productive question to me. The idea of anxiety is very difficult to define in itself with the human mind's subtleties: insecurities, aspirations, hopes and disappointments. Gearing a poll around it and peoples' experiences with cannabis seems futile, unscientific in the very least. What environmental conditions cause the (subjective) anxiety? What neurological patterns cause anxiety? Is it fair to defiantly state that a regular cannabis user has experienced causal anxiety from their substance of choice if they tend to, more often than not, be directly under its effects anyway? Everyone is capable of getting anxious on occasion eventually. Can correlative anxiety exist within the realm of otherwise non-interfering cannabis use?
Might be nice to twist the question in order to gain some ideological spin but it's hardly pragmatic reasoning. |

"Ok, I could agree with it being contra productive but if you read the question as it is, it's not about anxiety, it's about the possibility of cannabis having a permanent change on the user's perception of it's use disabling him/er from further use. It could have nothing to do with anxiety, maybe you turned the corner because now you cant handle the macrolepsia (4th world on mario bros 3). I've had panic attacks on mj, but I always end blaming them on something else, and even if it doesn't "cause them" it gets you into a vulnerable postion which is what the poll's about. For whatever reason, "can you no longer enjoy the experience?"" Last edited by e_choco_o; 03-06-2008 at 01:24. |

Re: Poll - Turning the corner.
This would be an interesting poll, if worded in a way that everyone understands. Only Gold members and donating members can post polls, so if anyone wants to add this poll ...

Re: Poll - Turning the corner.
e_choco_o, I would like to start this poll. Would you please write a brief description defining the process of 'turning the corner' so that a poll can be opened and fellow members can understand the questions better?

Re: Poll - Turning the corner.
e_choco_o, please edit your last post to remove self-incrimination.
Nature Boy, while your argument is valid concerning a definition of anxiety and its applicable causal or correlation relationship with cannabis, this, as e_choco_o stated in the last post, is not what the question is concerning. The question is concerned with people who have had experiences with cannabis that cause them stop using the substance. The reason for their cessation could be any number of things, from anxiety to giggles, short-term memory loss, a panic attack, or simply cannabis interfering with your ability to play mario. This seems like a common enough experience amongst long-term cannabis users to warrant some investigation. |
