Combinations - Low Doses of Codeine and Alcohol

SWIM has always been very curious about opiates but has never really had the opportunity to try them and feel the nod. He recently obtained some otc codeine with 8mg codeine/300 apap/15 caffiene. He took about 48 mg on saturday to test the waters and make sure he wasn't allergic or anything. The only effects that SWIM felt were definitely placebo but there was a general mood lift.

Currently SWIM doesn't have the materials or a house free of parents to do a CWE but he does have a fridge full of beer. SWIM was wondering if he had 40 mg of codeine in his system (1500 of apap) would he be able to 'boost' it with a drink or 2? Obviously this would be harsh on the liver, but would it be fatal? Would the effects be too strong to enjoy? SWIM considers himself pretty experienced with alcohol although he has no real experience with codeine or any other opiate.

Parents or not if SWIY is going to use codeine recreationaly they should do a CWE.
2 glasses, one sheet of paper towel, cold tap water, and the crushed pills is all you need. SWIM has had many pleasant evenings with exactly those supplies.
Combining codeine and alcohol isn't a great idea according to my neighbour's dog, who says the alcohol just sort of takes over.

Very bad idea dude.

APAP toxicity is increased significantly when one has alcohol in their system. Even a therapeutic dose (1000mg) is not wise when consuming alcohol.

Swim would suggest doing a CWE. How hard can it be, even if Swiy lives with their folks?

Mixing alcohol and opiates is a bad idea.

It shouldnt really make a difference who is in swiys house, CWE isnt a noisy/long/difficult process and should be easy to do secretly.

really, but dont use a paper-towel (bette than nothing though) better is a coffe filter. its really easy to do it secretly..
but opiates and alcohol are a bad idea, especially with CWE (like said above), but also with, first off the respiratory failure risk (if taken in high doses) and second the alcohol kinda kills the codeine buzz (for most people) and just makes more tired, SWIY wont enjoy it.

Thanks alot swiy's, Swim definitely doesn't think he'll ever mix opiates and booze. By now Swim has had 3 'experiences' with codeine, all of them were pretty minimal amounts(40, 48, 64 mg) and didn't really have any recreational value other then a small lightheadedness or limbs feeling a little bit heavy.

After school today SWIM has decided he will do a cwe and get the most out of his codeine. He is aware that there are numerous threads/faqs explaining on how to do a proper cwe, but as this is his first time he would like to be extra cautious.

1)Crush the pills (put them in a ziploc bag, smash with a hammer?)
2)Put the power in a cup
3)Fill cup with warm water
4)Stir for a while?
5)Put cup in freezer for 20 mins?
6)Stir again
7)Put solution through a coffee filter into another cup
8)Stir/filter again to get rid of excess apap

Is this correct? What is Swim missing? What should Swim do a little bit differently?

well, like i said take a look at my signature, there are a few ones, and also a "dos & donts" list, if you read these you will for sure be on the safe side.

ok your list is pretty good already. if SWIY wants to do a cwe he has to make sure to crush the pills as well as possible into powder, the ziplock idea is not bad (also these the faq for other ideas)
SWIm would use a whole glass of water for this.
warm water, not hot though, is not bad (as in hot for the finger/SWIYourselves), stirring till everything dissolved (there will be little/tiny chunks floating around, dont worry about these). now theres a mistake. just 20 minutes freezer might be enough, might not be. the water has to be cold, the closer to freezing the better (but none of it in the glass should acutally be frozen as codeine might be stuck an there), so if he puts his finger in there and it feels "cold" it should be good, around 5-10c are enough SWIm would say. still, stirr agaian, always stirr, always good
put solution carefully through a coffe filter, like SWIY said, one filter is enough! if SWIY wants to be careful he can put a piece of ice on the bottom of the filter, make sure it doesnt break though!
usually if done well it might still be slightly cloudy, (in the faq theres pictures of what it can look like) but not much, dont worry about 100-500mgs of PCM, there dont harm you. SWIm would not filter again, but its up to SWIY feeling about the procedure. better safe than sorry

so basically what SWIY wrote is correct, just cold water, one glass, one filter, dissolve pills well

I don't think that'll be too dangerous mixing only 40 mg with 2-3 beers. SWIM has taken 370 mg with 2 beers and 2 Benadryls and is still alive, he only had trouble going to sleep taht night because everytime he did he found he wouldn't breathe so he stayed up all night. But SWIY's minimal doses won't do any harm in my opinion. Just make sure SWIY knows that he will be harming his liver with the APAP and alcohol combination, but probably won't die or have serious damage.
