Storing - How long will magic mushrooms stay active (AKA Shelf Life)?

Fae knows someone who has mushrooms right now, but she just did some yesterday. She wants to get them now while they're still available, but She's worried that they may go bad before she finally takes them

Fresh or dried?

Fresh--dry them, freeze them, or put them in honey.
Dried--cool, dry, dark place or grind them up.

As long as one makes the tea by boiling the water and mixing with the shrooms and doesn't boil the shrooms themselves potency stays pretty well.

Hello heads, SWIM just recently found about a quarter of P. cubensis down at swim's cabin, left over from last summer. Do SWIY think these are still consumable or would most of the actives have degraded by now?

Is it seven grams dried or fresh ? If dried they should be ok as long as they have been out of sunlight and kept generally cool.

I wouldn't eat any food that was been left in a cabin for a year, unless it was properly stored. Whether or not the person you know regards cubies as a food is arguable...

SWIM has acquired mushrooms, however he procured them in mid-June (it is now early August). They are bone-dry and stored inside a plastic bag, inside another zip-seal plastic bag, inside a thick plastic spectacle case. SWIM is hesitant to use them not because they are old but because he just ain't feelin' it, ya dig? He was wondering how long shrooms, under said conditions, will last.

To prolong the stability of the tryptamines SWIY should keep them away from heat, preferably in a cold environment such as a fridge or freezer.
