Hmmmm grandma has the same issue with tasting cacti that are VERY bitter,for example she cut up a cactus last nigt and tasted a small sliver and to her amazment it tasted much more bitter then her normal cacti,her face instantly started glowing with excitment and was in a very cheerfull mood for the rest of the night.

She also notes that cacti taste a lil bit like molly.

SWIM used to quite enjoy the taste of MDMA, until he was ill one time when candy flipping and now he associates the taste with sickness. If his body knows it's about to enter his mouth, it prepares the gag reflex.

Please, please, please! Don't nobody get any bright ideas - like flavoring MDMA(or anything else in the way of drugs) with such as Nestle's Strawberry Kwik! MDMA is a Schedule I controlled substance as is. If someone did that and the Feds found out, they'd probably shove legislation through congress to make it a mandatory death sentence.

Mustn't attempt to make Little Bobby peaceful before he's had a chance to shoot Hadji in Iraq!

All sillyness aside i dont see how someone could like the taste oif these thing,while they might enjoy the fact there taking i dont think anyone could "enjoy" the flavor of MDMA...

guess its a psychological things. from what swim has heard they taste awful. but as swiy said you associate it with good feelings. so although the taste is nasty the mental state produced by the taste is positive. so swim guesses it is possible.

I have never heard him mention a gel-cap or any means of consumption other than raw, oral consumption. He also notes the tastes of many of the chemicals he samples, leading me to agree that he probably does not mask the taste. He might not enjoy it...but it is certainly an aspect of every substance worth noting, if nothing else than for the visceral satisfaction that you know what you're getting

^^Hmm he addresses this issue in PIHKAL. He (or she maybe) fondly recalls his first trip with Ann. Placing xx mg of some substance I forget in two glasses and filling with water. The two of them drinking and her wondering how the hell he can drink the taste, and him puzzled with her odd face.

I think I would've fore-warned her lol.

He mentions it telling him something about the character of the molecule. Maybe after tasting and subsequently injesting a hundreds of psychoactive chemicals one can gain insight into the experience from the taste? Who knows...

I read an article about that miracle fruit yesterday and it made me think of this thread, but I was thinking, isn't MDMA more bitter than sour? Or is that the same thing, essentially when it comes to tastebuds?

swiy's not weird, he's just got his own preference. swim thinks it tastes like chemicals should taste like. and when insufflated, makes her eyes water and heart nearly bust. after that inital rail everythings all good tho.

Swim doesn't have pure MDMA that often so still thinks the taste is pretty nasty. Although that horrible taste you get in the back of your throat when you drop a pill is, for swim, now much more bearable.

However, swim likes the taste of Ketamine since he started using it. swim is sure it's all to do with how often u end up tasting it during administration (usually because of the drip) and how good your experiences are with the said substance.

That's how your brain associates the taste with good things.

Does this include chewin pills up? swim was once finding it hard to swallow pills so he had no alternative but to chew it up and he can now say its the worst thing he has ever bitten into. It tasted extremely fizzy and bitter and gave his gums a tingley feeling that he couldnt get rid of. swim thought it would just be like chewing a paracetomol/painkiller which he can cope with but he was so very wrong
Ever since then swim gets the same tingley feeling in his gums whenever he drops a couple of pills, it always reminds him of chewing 1 up and he will never forget it

Swim hates the taste of ket after his first few lines but he loves the taste once he gets used to it

SwiM's cat swears she could smell tiny remains of safrole in some pills before. As for the taste, she doesn't necessarily 'like' it but she likes what it results in.
