Oral use - Ritalin orally or snort it?

Please help and advise if you can.
Swim would like to know if taking Ritalin (for recreational purposes) orally would produce any noticeable effects and if so, how much should swim take?
Or is snorting the only way to go?
Swim has never taken this drug before so tolerance should be quite low.

oral ritalin will produce effects. they probably will be less intense than snorting, but should last longer. try 20mg first and see how that feels, and then work up from there if swiy is not satisfied.

Agreed- oral is just as worthwhile in this swim's opinion- steady, long lasting, and certainly not weak. Snorting seems to result in a harsher crash, shorter duration, and nasal discomfort due to the size of the pills and fillers.

Also, swim is pretty sensitive to uppers, so might recommend starting with 10mg, waiting 30-60 minutes, and then taking 10 more for the first experience as needed, especially if IR. If time release, one could probably take 20-30 mg orally at once.

There are some interesting threads also about snorting and whether this overcomes the time release mechanism, and it seems it may not- so the oral route seems logical, but depends on what one is going for, and can always experiment with doses and routes of administration until swiy finds what works for them. My lab ape, Bongo, was offered powdered Ritalin(methylphenidate) pills once to snort. He was at a party, so he accepted - a social sort of thing, ya know...

So up the shnozz went the powdered pills. And Bongo began to sneeze. And sneeze. And sneeze. Bongo lost count after 25 sneezes - they just kept coming. Bongo doesn't recall if he got any sort of effect from them regards the sort of effect people normally want from Ritalin. But he did have all the symptoms of a terrible head cold for several days after that.
