Allready immune to opiates please don't tell me benzos and ambien don't work either!

Well swim have definitely hit rock bottom as far as any good drugs go. Back in the day swim remembers getting off of 20-40 mg of oxy and forgetting a whole day after taking like 5 of swim's ex gf's xanax. And don't even get swim started about the ambien he would take 10 mg and feel like he took a blunt to the head and was floating on cloud nine.

Now years after starting college swim and his so called "friends" got into every conceivable opiate, watching his friend die from going out with a sleeze bag slut 10 years his age that picked up 200 OC 80s a week I guess it was inevitable. But swims understanding ex gf gave him more than enough xanax after he ran out of his own script for coming down from late night study bingers strung out on amphetamine and caffeine.

Recently Swims doctor has him taking 4 mg of clonazepam a day (shit 10 doesn't do anything to swim, but it used to in swim's past) she tapered swim off of methadone which has horribly failed but lucklily swim has a bottle of subs and a taper plan that HE will stick to because honestly especially methadone withdrawl is HELL and you can't take any drug to make it go away cept partially the subs.

Swim just wants to know why he can't feel shit from k-pins and that the ambien he hasn't have in years isn't giving him the effects that he and everybody else got. Please post some help.

P.S. Swims doctor also tried to get me on Seroquel, she said it was a "massive" tranquilizer "yeah sounds like a good idea I'll just knock myself out with antipsychotics and 2 weeks from now go fuck my dog in front of my mom (which an inmate in my mod on seroquel actually did). Swim only got the fucking ambien if I took this other scary drug called zyprexa because she said the ambien will be like sugar pills which they pretty fucking are.

Perhaps a cross tolerance? (do z-drugs and benzos have cross tolerance?)

Maybe SWIY just took way too much in the past and actually did some damage?

A train of thought that leads somewhere I know nothing about, but may be helpful if someone else could expand: maybe SWIY is depleted of inhibiting neurotransmitters (can one be low on GABA?) and perhaps changing diets or taking the right supplements will restore effectiveness to these medications.

No one can force SWIY to take zyprexa, or to even get it filled. But it sounds like ambien doesn't do anything for SWIY right now, anyway.

Re: Allready immune to opiates please don't tell me benzos and ambien don't work eith

I think there are cross tolerance issues with the Z-drugs and benzo's, they pretty much act on the same parts of the brain, i know that barbiturates and benzo have cross tolerance effects.

As for the antipsychotics, yea they are in the so called 'major tranquillizer' catagory as opposed to benzodiazepines as 'minor tranquillizers', does sound good eh, well apparently not, certainly not for any pleasurable effects. I was prescribed Chlorpromazine for insomnia which is a typical antipsychotic (as opposed to quetiapine (seroquel) and olanzapine (zyprexa) that are 'atypical' or second generation), mainly because my doctor was reluctant to give me a benzo i am sure. I was told that the buzz off of these things are horrible, so i barely took any and i have no recollection of them being any good for sleep. I wasn't particularly pleased to be taking an antipsychotic in the first place.

Barbiturates and benzos are cross tolerant?I thought that was barbiturates and alcohol?Swim finds clonazepam to be the weakest of the benzos.Swims is almost sure some benzodiazepine will work for swiy.

Re: Allready immune to opiates please don't tell me benzos and ambien don't work eith

I saw something about patients being switched from barbiturates to benzodiazepines while avoiding withdrawal and i also found this on Wikipedia.....

Benzodiazepine/Cross-tolerance...

Quote:
Benzodiazepines share a similar mechanism of action with various sedative compounds that act by enhancing the GABAA receptor. Cross tolerance means that one drug will alleviate the withdrawal effects of another. It also means that tolerance of one drug will result in tolerance of another similarly-acting drug. Benzodiazepines are often used for this reason to detoxify alcohol-dependent patients, and can have life-saving properties in preventing and/or treating severe life-threatening withdrawal syndromes from alcohol, such as delirium tremens. However, although benzodiazepines can be very useful in the acute detoxification of alcoholics, benzodiazepines in themselves act as positive reinforcers in alcoholics, by increasing the desire for alcohol. Low doses of benzodiazepines were found to significantly increase the level of alcohol consumed in alcoholics.[65] However, alcoholics dependent on benzodiazepines should not be abruptly withdrawn but be very slowly withdrawn from benzodiazepines as over-rapid withdrawal is likely to produce severe anxiety or panic, which is well known for being a relapse risk factor in alcoholics. See (benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome).

There is also cross tolerance between alcohol, the benzodiazepines, the barbiturates, and the nonbenzodiazepine drugs, which all act by enhancing the GABAA receptor's function via modulating the chloride ion channel function of the GABAA receptor.[66][67][68][69]

Re: Allready immune to opiates please don't tell me benzos and ambien don't work eith

cross tolerance swim guesses.

dont worry about zyprexa. swim knows a good friend on zyprexa and he is totaly fine with no side effects other than heavy drowsiness so he takes it at night.

the main antipsychotics swim has heard of causing nasty side effects were risperidal and seroquil. zyprexa seems decent.

as for the dog part of the story(LMAO) thats sounds very unlikely for most people. that was clearly psychotic behavior and thats exactly what zyprexa and the like are supposed to prevent. so who knows what was wrong with that particular individual.
