Drug info - Fake kratom?

SWIM has been interested in trying kratom for some time, but was put off by reports of fake kratom being sold online. It seems that fake kratom is quite common. SWIM did some research and finally bought an ounce of "premium dried leaf" from a seemingly reputable online vendor. But SWIM is still hesistant to take it, in case it is fake. How would SWIM be able to tell if her kratom is the real stuff?

One can do a TLC workup, or other laboratory tests, or they can take it and see.

I keep hearing about "fake" kratom lately, and it perplexes me, as there are so very many easily found (do not ask here, it is against our rules), well reputable places from which to purchase fine quality material. There are discussion groups in many places to be found by searching the web in the usual ways, if one needs simple guidance in such matters.

Kratom smells alot like some kind of tea and it tastes kind of like some very bitter tea. Swim has never come across fake kratom and as radiometer says it is very easy to find a good website to buy it from. Swim has only heard of fake kratom from a website that sells real kratom, they said that fake kratom tends to be a lot cheaper than real kratom, but real kratom is pretty cheap too. Most likely, if it is fake, its just ineffective and harmless. A company selling poison for human consumption will get in a lot of shit fast.

I think low quality kratom is alot mmore common then fake kratom.
