Australian Poppys
Hello there. I am a caring friend of this guy I know with red hair, and Im asking these questions on his behalf. I apoligize if I break any of the rules.
Anyway my silly red haired friend has become interested in making poppy tea. He is mostly aware of the methods and can find that out for himself, however he is at a loss as to some of the specifics. This guy lives in Australia, its hard to find proper information on these kind of subjects down under. The topic of upmost importance to him is aquisition of the materials he needs, these "poppy-seeds". He is slightly confused about what to buy, what to look out for. The closest he has come to finding the right materials is this: http://shaman-australis.com.au/shop/...cPath=21_35_96 However between the plant names and legal mumbo jumbo he is not sure exactly if this is the material he needs, or if it is safe and proper for the extraction method he wants to undergo. Any advice would be greatly appretiated. |

Re: Australian Poppys
Regardless of the fact that source discussion is not allowed on this forum, swim will assist you. Poppy tea can be made with papaver somniferum seeds or pods. Quality and quantity needed/desired varies greatly. Please refer to the stickied topics and read.

Re: Australian Poppys
one agrees, no source discussion, no commercial sites, shaman australis is BOTH.
The spice isle is interesting in a particular country one has visited though. The hoyts brand in particular has an interesting range. In tasmania (which is a a part of australia some say) they grow and harvest opium poppy for the legal opiate farming industry. apparently these farmers sell the seed stock after the poppy straw has been threshed to spice companies which are then sold as food grade poppy seeds in most local supermarkets. At least that is what this australian deep sea racing mullet told me once.
