my 250mg is starting to kick in now and i did 400mg yesterday over the whole day bits at a time.

About 2-4 hours (figures vary between sources). The seeling effect - the maximum you can take at any given time and have it all working is at 400mg.
Codeine is ian md 450 cyp 2d6 "enzyme shit" inhibitor. So it can seriously affect the convertion to morphine of a new dose taken less then 2-4 hours after the first one, even in a quantity a lot smaller than needed for the seeling effect.
Meaning: it doesn't matter if you've taken 200mg or 400mg, you have to give 2-4 hours before doeing another.
Other then that, it really doesn't count how much you take in a day. I've heard of people using 2g daily and still working for them.

Because codeine needs to be metabolized to an active form, there is a ceiling effect around 400-450 mg. This low ceiling further contributes to codeine being less addictive than the other opiates.

the effect varies from person to person and with tolerance the body adapts to it and one could take higher dosages .. the hours in-between taking also differ (dpeending on the food intage, what food etc) but swim would say after 2-4 hours, but thats just a personal estimation, not backed up by facts, but SWIM noticed that the absorption is still slowed down (at times greatly)

SWIM has found out through experience that it's not worth it to do codeine too much because the euphoria disappears completely for SWIM once he has developed tolerance, so SWIM's best advise is to do it every 2-3 days, that way the fun never goes away...
