Does Tramadol affect codeine tolerance?

Rambo has recently been using abit of codeine daily and has built up quite a tolerance, yesterdays 420mg dose did diddle all to him so he has decided to take a month off so he can enjoy codeine again.

Rambo has been prescribed tramadol for toothache and rambo wants to know if it will increase his codeine tolerance?

Tramadol lends at least a portion of analgesic effects to non-opioid activity. There is still opioid on a lesser level than that of true opiates though. Swibf would assume that the use of Tramadol in the stead of codeine would at the very least result in a lesser tolerance than the equivalent use of codeine for that period.
