Should this combination be enjoyable?
Swim got a tea containing 20mg valerian root extract,10mg passion flower extract. It also contains chamomile, skullcap, and Saint Johns wort leaf and flower.Swim has experience with the chamomile but not as much with the others.Should this cause pleasant sedation?

Re: Should this combination be enjoyable?
SWIM thinks it should be pretty mild, but might be nice for a nice relaxing night, maybe take a bath and watch a movie, cuddle up and sip some nice tea.
Probably nothing mind blowing, or even really a "high," but yeah, SWIM thinks it should be nice and relaxing! Let us know how it goes ![]() Also, when SWIM would take high doses of valerian root, he surely enjoyed the relaxing effects, and always seems to make his head feel like the size of a marble. Very strange sensation, but not bad at all, it was quite nice! |

Re: Should this combination be enjoyable?
Most of these herbs probably effect GABA in some way thats what swim was thinking when he bought it.It has a few other ingredients but most of them seem to be for flavoring as swim hasn't heard of any of them refered to as psychoactive.Swim has a thing for any kind of downer.

Re: Should this combination be enjoyable?
Add a little mulungu and you've got an effective sleep aid...
![]() Although I must just state, passionflower in it's own right is quite effective as sleep aid -as is Mulungu. Hmm, but in response to the title... I guess it depends on your definition of 'enjoyable'. -If collapsing into quilted cotton sheets into a deep restful sleep is your idea of enjoyable well then swIm would have to say go for it. ![]() .peace. |

Re: Should this combination be enjoyable?
As SWIB says, this sounds like a pleasant sleep aid. SWIM produces his own gel caps out of valerian, skull cap, passion flower, hops, etc.(commercial preparations are also available) The doses involved seem to be vague, but in combination these herbs certainly seem to cause a pleasant mild sedation and relaxation.
Most teas, such as valerian tea or St John's wort tea, have quite small amounts of herbs in them, but are pleasant anyway. |

Re: Should this combination be enjoyable?
Wow this stuff has pretty pronounced sedative effects. This is the one herbal product swim has been most satisfied with. After consuming one and a half glasses swim just laid down on the couch in his den.He felt a spinny but pleasant sensation almost as if he was half lifting off the ground and half melting into the couch.Deep thoughts about how precious swims loved ones are started generating and soon swim fell into a deep sleep with very colorful dreams. For years swim thought ethnos were just alot of hype but he was wrong. No it wasn't quite diazepam but when one is broke and needs something cheap and legal these kind of things are the way to go or when one has insomnia.
