interupted zoloft (sertraline)course?

if i stop taking zoloft (cold turkey) for 2ish weeks, and then start taking it again (of course starting slow, 25 mg a day for a week then 50 then 100 which is my usual dose) will it still have the same effect? i heard my body can build resistence to it if i stop taking it.

perhaps should i see about getting onto another medication?
