Moldy leaf - safe for cannabis butter ?
I have heard that some moldy leaf will be safe for use in cannabutter seeming it all gets simmered/boiled away.
But i am not sure if this is true - what is swiy's experience with this? the swim's leaf, when shaken, produces a cloud of white dust - this is the mold spores apparently. Will it affect the taste of the cannabutter or should swim just burn it in the incinerator ? |

Re: Mouldy leaf - safe for cannabutter ?
SWIM says that if SWIY can shake the leaf and see many white spores, chances are that the mold has progressed past the point where the heat from boiling will destroy it. Toss the moldy leaves out, it's not worth getting sick over

Re: Mouldy leaf - safe for cannabutter ?
The only thing that will be safe enough is to make hash using high percentage rubbing alcohol (70-99) to make it into hash, even safer if said hash is cooked with after. Most people agree simmering in butter is not safe enough. AFOAFOM has made hash this way many times with moldy buds.
