2ci to water and back

swim accidentally dropped two 100mg capsules into water... they have since dried but have changed from their fluffier powder to more of a hardened substance. how would this affect future weighing/dosing?

Re: 2ci to water and back

It should still weigh the same, I doubt that the water contaminants in whatever water was in the cup, weighed that much.

Dosing is easy once you give it some thought. The simplest way to do this is to get a syringe with measured markings on it of some sort. Say it's a 50mL syringe. Dissolve the powder in 50mL of water. Store it in some small airtight bottle. Dose as needed with the syringe. For every mL of water there are 4mg of 2C-I. This can be altered depending on the syringe or a larger quantity of water can be used for ease of measuring. Say use 200mL then it would only be 1mg per mL. Just do your math right and your pet rat's experiments should go as planned.

Re: 2ci to water and back

Swim would guess that if swiy is to weight out by dividing the "powder" into piles from the original 1000mg.

For instance, if you wanted to do 250mg, you could weigh out the total powder (which would probably be over 1000mg) into four equal parts and take one. If swiy wanted to do 300 mg, swiy would take the total amount in mg and divide by 3.3 and take that many mg.

Swim hopes that helps.

Re: 2ci to water and back

Something tell me not every lab rat has an accurate scale that could be used to get such a precise measurements as would be necessary.

Re: 2ci to water and back

the gel from the capsule may have had an effect on the consistancy of the powder

Re: 2ci to water and back

Most likely, no. The act of the gel-capsule bonding with the 2c-i salt cannot happen with how kdmtrp described his accident. although, it would be an interesting pile of goop now wouldn't it?

Simple action to weigh this seeing as it is just re-crystallized. it should just be normal 2c-i HCl when all is dried, the harder, denser crystals is most likely because of the evaporation forming bigger crystals as apposed to a finer chopped up pile.

No worry, it'll be fine, just get a good scale and continue on with swiys research and for gods sake man, stop being so clumsy.

Ya...the OP made one post about 6 weeks ago...closed for now

kdmtrp if you ever make it around these parts & the lab rats still suffer from un-easy hands PM and i'll reopen
