Lidocain as local painkiller?

Hi!

SWIM is planning on making a cutting (i.e. scarification), which might be quite big & painful, however, he will start small (but in a way hat could possibly be extended).
he is wondering if he could inject lidocain in the muscle unter the skin tissue in order for the skin to become numb.. (obviously not deep in the muscle, just beneath the skin basically )

he has a lidocain / adrenalin mixture, fluid & sterile (obviously, i guess hes not extremly stupid even though thinking about scarification)

Re: Lidocain as local painkiller?

what is it that swiy wants to do? cut off a finger?*g* or a branding, tattos?

Swim apllied soem lidocain before a dentists visit and gave some shots into his back-muscles because his back is injured, it worked both, though better with the gum.

The adernaline is to prevent bleeding ...

AW: Lidocain as local painkiller?

i know the adrenaline constricts the vessels and thus stops bleeding

yea, SWIM wants to make a cutting, scarification,

well but not like that, actually just a small & simple cross.. so nothing to worry about really, except for sterilization, care of the wound and the pain

AW: Lidocain as local painkiller?

well, yeah, that sounds good. even though SWIM already tried it without, even though a lot smaller,, just kinda "experimenting". its tiny, so even if it should eventually turn out not-so-good, woulnd't matter (in SWIMs opinion)

but the lidocain might still be helpful for branding oder other scaring

Swim observed though that after a few cuts he didnt feel any pain anymore, maybe due to adrenaline, but he also didnt feel "adrenaline-upped", so thats strange

The body has a lot of pain killing mechanisms, I don't know where all my physio-psych notes are, but obviously, endorphins are a big help.
