Just recieved my first Salvia cutting in the mail today, need some advice...
So, I know the goal for the Salvia plant is to keep a high humidity. I'm short on money and really don't care to buy some great big humidity system. I have one small cutting and might get a few more, but that's it. I'm thinking some kind of frame on top of the pot that can be wrapped with some plastic wrap to keep the humidity.
The cutting is rooted. How should I try to plant it? I know the suggestions for soil mixtures and what is preferable, but will good 'ol average dirt from outside work? I'm a dedicated university student and have very little time to go out and buy supplies at this point, in fact, it wouldn't be till Saturday or Sunday until I'd have the opportunity to buy any potting soils. What would the shelf life of this rooted cutting be before it would need to be put in a proper pot and humidified? I live in northern Ohio, if that makes any difference. Any help and advice is well appreciated. |
