You can get it over the counter in Solpadeine or Neurofen Plus.

Codeine scripts are nearly always for codeine + paracetamol. Usually like 30mg codeine/ 500mg para. Especially if no real injury can be shown

Nurofen Plus is 12.5mg Codeine / 200mg Ibuprofen. To get any decent recreational effect, someone would need to use a CWE.

I guess if someone really did get "fucked" off of 30mg Codeine, then they could just take three for 37.5mg Codeine and 600mg Ibuprofen, but I've never met anyone who gets a buzz off of such a low amount of Codeine; most people need something like three times that.

When you say "halfs" [sic], are you thinking that the Nurofen Plus tablets are splittable with one half having all the Codeine and the other half all the Ibuprofen? Sorry to disappoint, but that's not been the case in the UK for a long time.

tell him/her that you got insufferable back pains,,sciatic type ones and that the only painkiller that works is the codeine phosphate...

they will give it to you

Mentioning a specific drug, especially an opiate, can be a high risk strategy. Many GPs would consider someone who said "nothing works except X" to be a potential abuser. It can be OK to casually mention that something has worked before, but to say that you want something and only that will do is going to ring alarm bells for a lot of doctors IMHO.

SWIM also thought CWE took too long but after doing it his own modified way it's actually quite speedy, check some of the other threads here where i mention what SWIM did.

dry cough is treated with codeine, and higher doses than codeine + pcm, but theres enough alternatives that SWIY doctor would rather prescribe..

@MW: Would be nice if you could find a link so i can put a "high-speed cwe" manual in the cwe faq (since its lacking that afaSWIMk), would be nice if SWIY could even write it in a detailed way (but not too long, those people dont have time to read ), of course i would give you a favor back for that
