MS site inflamation
SWIM took a 30mg IR MS tablet and dissolved 15mg in .5mL distilled water. He then filtered through a piece of cotton and then again through a wheel filter. after IV administration the site of injection became inflamed and raised a little and began to itch. SWIM was wondering if this was due to the pH of the solution was drastic or of a little solution made it into the surrounding tissue and histamine was released. SWIM later tried the remaining 15mg SC and the surrounding area did the same thing. any thoughts as to what happened and how it can be prevented.
