Redosing Buprenorphine

Swim used the search engine to no avail, the answer to swim's question may be out there though, and if someswiy knows the thread please link, thank you.

But anyhow. Swim has four 2mg suboxone tabs. He's planning on ingesting 4mg in one way or another today. His original idea was to take 2-3 mg sublingually and then a couple hours later insufflating the other 1-2 mg.

Swim's question is, what are the "rules" when it comes to redosing bupenorphine. Someone once told him that if one takes some suboxone, and then takes a booster dose a few hours later it wont add to the high as in getting him higher, but will add to the length of the high.

Swim wants to know if he should go with his original plan or if he should just take all 4mg at once. Swim wants to get the most out of it so he basically just needs to know if there is any truth behind what that someone in the previous paragraph told swim about redosing.

Swim is fairly experienced with opiates so there is no worry of overdoing it or anything so please, no cautionary replies. If anyone can shed some light on this for him, or point him in the direction of some info it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Lex, SWIM does not have much experience in the area you are researching so SWIM would hesitate to try and attempt an answer. I would like to say that you might want to reconsider discouraging any 'cautionary replies'. There is an incredible amount of knowledge and experience (both positive and negitive) on this forum. No matter how much you may know, there is always someone with more experience in that subject. You can always dismiss any cautionary advice but, you never know. You just may read something that could save SWYM a very bad trip or worse. I have read some of your posts and you are a cool guy so it's for that reason alone I am posting this (possibly nonsense filled) reply. I would hate to see you pass up some good (cautionary) advice. No offense at all intended, good luck and safe journeys!

Re: Redosing Buprenorphine

First off, thanks much for the compliment.

When swim said, "no cautionary" replies, he only meant that he is aware of the dangers of bupe and has had many, many recreational experiences with it, and is aware of most if not all, advice he may receive regarding warnings on dosage and such. Swim welcomes any advice anySwiy may give him but for this post he was trying to avoid the thread being covered with cautions and see if anyone could help him with the redosing situation as this is one area of buprenorphine info that he is not knowledgeable of. haha and by no means is swim critisizing your advice on welcoming cautionary replies, merely explaining why he didn't want any warnings for this specific post.
