Gelatin Filtering - more tests, please.

O.K. SWIM knows by now he's probably the only one intrested in this but he still wants to know if gelatin filtering could be used as a "one parse" method - no ice-o-lation, no cloth filtering.

Now, would any swimmer out there be prepared to give this method a go and tell SWIM what they thought? He can't do anymore tests for weeks because he's broke and can't afford pods.

Just for review

Gelatin Filtering:

1.) Make CPS solution, as per normal and cool it to room temp.
2.) Set the solution to a jelly but use less gelatin than is stated as required on the packet, about 85% the stated amount.
3.) Freeze the jelly.
4.) Defrost the jelly in the fridge on a sieve above a collection bowl.
5.) Evaporate the liquid in the collection bowl.


The pods SWIM has are very weak (SWIM knows because he's made teas to check) so his tests have been somewhat invalided (damn that seller). Anyone out there prepared to try this?

Let SWIM point out the main advantages if it were to work:

1.) No filter material required - gelatin can be bought at any supermarket.
2.) Less monitoring than ice-o-lation.

Go on, there's no harm in trying.
