Germany - Salvia divinorum ban in Germany

I heard that Salvia divinorum has been banned in Germany. Does someone have more information about the ban? Especially about the kind of law and the wording of the law banning salvia divinorum.

I checked der Spiegel and it mentioned nothing but this was the most conclusive thing I've found so far.

On February 15, 2008 Salvia divinorum was added to Appendix I of the Narcotics Act, which will make it illegal to produce, traffic, or possess. The law specifies "Salvia divinorum (plant and plant parts)", but does not mention salvinorin A. The law is expected to take effect soon. (last updated Feb 21, 2008)"

I've seen something similar to this on many sites, have yet to see something mentioning that it took effect and is illegal.

As this is pretty unfortunate, there is still some recourse.
One simply has to perform a Salvinorin extraction and put it on, say, an inert plant, or better yet just rolling paper which can be smoked for an instant powerful hit. However, swim thinks this is a bad sign for the Salvia scene in other parts of the world. The countries just keep coming down like dominoes. Really, the focus should be on showing that it has NO side effects, that the link to dysphoria is invalid, and that it would be some kind of human rights violation to ban something of the sort.

Force them out of the excuse of public health and force them to self-label as xenophobes!
